do you mind if i ask where you sourced these parts from? i've been hunting for that front bumper. i don't have the money to buy it now, but in the future when i have money, i'd love to know where to get it.

I was contemplating selling them part by part... we'll see

 

GD1, GD2, GD3, GD4 designations varied depending on FF,4wd, 1.5L or 1.3L

GD3 being 1.5L FF
GD4 being 1.5L 4wd
GD1 being 1.3L FF
GD2 being 1.3L 4wd
Although typically 1st gen fits came with this bumper, you might assume that it is a GD1 bumper because it is the 1st gen bumper, but actually could have been a GD1, GD2, or GD3 bumper depending on which drive train/ engine combo it came from. And yes, there was a 1.5L FF with this bumper; so technically speaking, the chassis designation could have been a GD3. In 04 is when the bumpers changed and the engine/ drivetrain designation would make a difference with the appearance of the bumpers, with the GD 1.5L differing from the 1.3L.

So, until 04, all the bumpers were the same between GD1,GD2,GD3,GD4, with the exception of the bumper having a lip. So calling his bumper a GD3 bumper is correct, but assuming mine is a "GD1" bumper is incorrect simply because the 1st gen bumpers GD1-4 all looked the same.

At least thats what I think based on looking at the chassis/engine/drivetrain designations in the HyperRev FIT book.

thank you for clarifying that. i never knew. everyone just called it jdm gd3 bumper. so technically it would be called the 1.5L bumper?

 

naw, i guess it could be called whatever like GD1-GD3,but i think it would be easier/ more specific to refer to it as the "1st Gen" bumper. Personally I prefer the 2nd Gen 1.3L front bumper, but at the time couldnt find one in good condition when I was shopping for it. Now if someone had the 2nd Gen 1.5L bumper from the UK, that one is really nice, cuz unlike the JDM version GD3 bumper, it has foglights.

BTW I have the foglights for the "1st Gen" bumper as well, just in case anyone was wondering

I'm still considering parting it out, seems like everyone just wants the bumpers and fenders... no love for the headlights. So we'll see

i have to ask one more question. i don't get what the ctr headlights are. is it supposed to be like a grayish blackish color on the housing?
