soo.. yeah i was driving up a hill and my car started squeeking like a mouse. i pulled over and discovered THISSS!!!!
Luckily i was on my way to a little fit meet so i pulled off the bottom pipe and converted to short ram. I emailed the company and if all goes well i'm getting replacement parts to "salvage" my intake
we'll see how this goes. Props to HPS (hiprospeed) if they really send me the parts

Oh here is how it's supposed to look

yeah i dont think it was a smart idea for them to use the tranny as a mounting place, 2nd gear likes to chirp tires when you shift quickly so i could only imagine now much that moves the entire engine/tranny
i think he meant where did the piece bolt up to?.. if that was the question they gave me a little bracket the bolts up to the tranny then it extends out to that piece that broke off.
I know that the tranny and motor will most of the time move together but im sure their actions arent identical. The tranny (i assume) should be more solid wheras the engine with our crummy stock engine mounts move and shake like no other. I think it would've made more sense to mount it up to that spot in the engine bay like most other intakes bolt onto. Or just to be extra careful have 2 mounting locations
*edit oh btw this intake gives really poor throttle response cuz it's super long. But the "power bulge" in midrange power as shown on the dyno IS actually there! This was proven when i got my car dyno'd at the Skunk2 meet. Also i noticed that cruising on the highway, it was easy to keep at 67-70mph with barely touching the throttle. Now in SRI mode, it requires much more pedal effort to maintain the same speed. Initial pickup is much quicker but bye bye to the high end
i think i'll just cut the old pipe before the hole and create a poor man's Aspec style intake, get the best of both worlds

nope I was asking where the piece for the hole went. If it fell into the intake then your going to be having more problems then just a broken intake.
