New Fit! Two observations:

1. I know I'm sitting on 10 gallons of fuel. Does anyone else hear it just sloshing around under you? Not loud, but obvious. Strange...

2. The front suspension sounds kinda clunky. I just don't remember this type of sound at all on my 95 Civic sedan. Doesn't sound loose, but not muffled either. Could just be related to the relative lack of sound deadening in this EconoHonda.

I love it though. Great car. Handles great- virtually no body roll, just turns. Awesome.

Any opinions of 1/2 above?

1. it's there but not enough to annoy.

2. No clunking sound from Front suspension here.

I did not notice the sloshing during test driving. I tested 3 at different places also. Each time gas tank was totally full..I assumed they were expecting a lot of testers. After purchasing and driving home 38 mi and then driving it the next day I did hear it sloshing. After using very little fuel, without the radio on even, I no longer hear it. Now tonite I filled up for the first time..no sounds again.

I hear the sloshing sometimes on initial startup and movement. I could be wrong but I also heard that the tank had a vacuum system to eliminate sloshing. Maybe the vacuum takes some time after inital startup to kick-in which is why we hear it sometimes.

I hope it's not just MINE doing the sloshing. If I stomp the brakes to a stop- it knocks back and forth down there for a while.

The gas tank is still in a protected spot in the middle of both ends of the car in case of crash. Safer isn't it ?

you should tune them better no logical reason why a Fit would handle better than a well tuned EG or EK.

That sloshing will happen until the tank is broken in which is around 600 miles according to the owner's manual. After that the tank manifold tightens around the fuel pump bearings and the noise should stop unless you haven't changed the blinker fluid which should also be taken car of around 600 miles.

Don't you usually wait until the muffler bearings go before replacing the blinker fluid?
