Someone broke into my fit today ):

Someone smashed the passenger window of my ge8 today... they didn't even take my gps in the compartment instead they took my ipod usb wire. Now I have to pay deductible and get it re-tinted. What a sad day for me ): Odd thing is my alarm didn't even go off, and right now my panic button isn't working.

That Sucks sounds like someone with a FIT. Was in in plain site? If you anything in site here at a Mall, it will get snatched. The alarm only would go off if he or she unlocked the door.

I live in a very quiet nice neighborhood, this happened in my own neighborhood. My ipod cord is visible from the outside but my windows are tinted, so how can you see it at night? I'm starting to think this is one of my ex-girlfriends or someone that hates me haha. This sucks! Yeah, they only took my ipod cord. I'm assuming they thought my Iphone was at the end of it. -_-; Either way this ruined my day, there goes $80 down the drain.

The alarm only goes off if a door is opened (for the OEM system). My wife's CRV was broken into at work, and the police told us that they broke the window but did not open the door for this reason. Sorry for your loss. We had Safelite come to the house and it was quick and easy. Geico set the whole thing up,with my okay.

AllState took care of it so fast, I was devasted when I posted this. It just got fixed as I'm typing this right now. Anyways it's still $80 ($50 deductible and $30 re-tint job) right before the holidays too, I guess someone's getting a gift from the dollar store. kidding.

I'm amazed at how someone can break through my window and through the tint. I can't believe that they targeted my car too. There's a x5 and fx35 just two parking lots down. Someone really hates me.

If it was a random smash and grab, someone probably just saw the ipod cable and figured there was something easily fenced and lower end cars are less likely to have a fancy alarm.

Sorry to hear about the break-in, smash and grap...

I paid through my nose, $250 extra to ask my dealer to arrange for installing a impact sensor to augment my existing on-board OEM alarm on my 2010 Sports A/T FIT... Any attempt to crash my window, steal tires or vandalize the car will trigger the impact vibration alarm

I am not sure if my $250 was money well spent in my case

I can't afford that I'm only 18 and in college. I was thinking of installing a webcam connected to a desktop I dont use and recording. Honestly my neighborhood never has any trouble like this, I'm starting to think someone has been drinking too much haterade on me.

I wonder if we can get the sensor and install it our selves. I always hear that our cars are set up for it but dont have it installed. Anyone know more about this?

Hate it for you, man ! Hate thieves of any kind. Especially lately since I had to spend nearly $200 on being a victim of a theft off my Nissan PU--they slid under the truck and cut the catalytic converter out of it. Then read it's a rampant problem all around the US...and it only takes a couple of minutes with a pipe cutter to go around and around each end to cut it off. They do it during broad daylight.

So, I feel your pain, man !

That's a great idea pandayun. I've been toying about that idea as well when someone dinged my FIT. With the webcam, I will have proof and will claim for damages if somebody's kid open their door too wide and ding into my FIT.

My same window got smashed within a week of owning the car but they didn't take anything.

Google for factory keyless upgrade

Amazon.com: Black Widow BW750 Upgrade Security System for Factory Keyless Entry Systems: Automotive

There are several alarms made to upgrade the factory alarm and utilize the factory keyFOB.

Sorry to hear about your car getting damaged - people just can't leave anything alone. Makes me think that an additional alarm on the Fit might not be a bad idea.
