I don't yet know but I will try and do a run when I have a little more power.... My front tires don't hook up until 40MPH in 2nd and 0 to 60 happens in 6 seconds... Top end speed is still classified information and I don't have a speed limiter..... Thats with the KWSC High Boost Kit..

Oh yes, it is very good.. A couple years back a guy that had added numerous performance parts on his GD actually suffered a loss in power... It may have been due to the type of dyno he did the run on... He wasn't happy.

It seems to be a waste of money to pay to see whether your car is making more horsepower or not when you can already feel it... I will be getting on a dyno to use it as a means of tuning for more power.

I have had my car on the dyno 4 times if I remember right. stock 85whp, then the KWSC 110whp, then injectors and test pipe 112whp then intercooler 120whp. I always had my car dynoed just so I had a idea of what kind of power I was getting and it was always on the same dyno

well i dont tune personally.... but i think every boosted car should be tuned to run the best it could in the area u live. altitude humidity temp... i know people do their own tunes but i think most of them do street tunes. street tunes arent near as good as dyno tune imo.

I did my dyno purely as a baseline, as I planned on turboing it eventually. I was very surprised at the numbers, skeptical even, but after watching other cars dyno, it seemed right on with the power they should be making. (i/h/e/tuned tiburon making 180whp, gen coupe making 240whp) glad to see more people posting up. Coyote, I'm excited to see your dyno results, as you are a performance purist. I'm surprised you don't own an elise! add performance by adding lightness!

That is not necessarily true, especially since more often than not you travel through VE/load cells faster, build boost faster and generate higher load overall under street conditions. This is often the reason so many people hear horror stories about how something went wrong or how a car was a pain to drive after getting it modded and tuned.

Not to mention when you do a street tune and tweak it over the course of a few months via personal laptop you get a much more OE-like tune than a couple pulls on a dyno on a given day.

The only real advantage of a dyno tune is that you can sit on individual cells for extended periods.

But if you street tune.. you will actually learn whats going on, which will help you down the line if you need to repair/diagnose something or decide to modify more.

Or like what I run into.. when you are running an aggressive tune and you run into crappy weather or fuel you can change it on the fly. Pull a couple degrees where it counts and/or richen the mixture.

To get a "tune" at a shop you are either going somewhere that can "chip" or "flash" your specific vehicle. Otherwise you have to have an EMS that they know how to use, or buy one from them.

These are all PC/Laptop based, so if you have an EMS or Piggyback that you've spent big bucks on you might as well learn how to use it yourself if all it takes is a cable and a laptop to do it.

Otherwise anytime there is a problem or drastic change in weather or configuration you have to back to the shop and pay up a few hundred bucks for another afternoon and an incomplete tune..

No need to get all anal bro. I just copied and pasted from my build thread. I edited my post. Happy?
