Front Caliper upgrade?

I'm native to the 5th gen accord world, and caliper swaps are easy and plentiful. I've got a new set of NSX calipers on my wagon already, and I've got a new spare set of NSX calipers sitting in my garage. I haven't looked into what 4x100 rotors are available in 11.2" to fit these calipers, or even if the caliper bracket mounting holes line up. The NSX caliper uses the same mounting found in lots of midsize honda's and acuras so its a pretty easy swap for most. I'm assuming I'll either need different knuckles, custom drilled rotors, or both. If so I'm not sure it would be worth it since this car is already light as is, and brakes just fine.

Just looking for possible info or experience.

Check this thread out ---> https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...tallation.html
Trying to fix the link, but for some reason the site is jumbling it up. Let me know if you're having problems seeing the link.

It's mainly for the GD's (07-08), but there's lots of good info in that thread which might help you.

Awesome! I got the link to work.

Thats good info. My major concern was bolting the caliper bracket on, but the Type R uses the same bolt spacing as the NSX as far as caliper bracket goes, so thats great news. I'd like to find a much cheaper rotor option, something that can be used from a diff honda/acura. I could use the integra type R rotors, but i believe they are either 4x114.3 or 5x114.3. Nothing in 4x100 to just 'bolt on'.

I will continue to research this as i'm pretty interested now that the caliper mounting is a non-issue now.

I bet Mini Cooper rotors would fit now that I think about it. They use the same hat type design, they're 4x100, and they're about 11". HMMMMMMMMMM

If I'm not mistaken in that thread there was quite a few rotor options which crossover to different Honda models, you might be able to use that to find an OEM part # or a less expensive part.

Just don't forget most of that thread is for the older Fits, so double check what will work with your Fit. Not sure 100% what's transferrable.

Have fun.

I remember that the GE uses the same rotor as some civics, so I think the brakes are very similiar if not the same to most of the 4x100 honda's and acuras.

Also after searching through all the 4x100 acuras and hondas, there aren't any that I could come across with a rotor large enough. Looks like Mini Cooper it is! Maybe i can snag a rotor and do a test fit and post back here, you know, for science.

Come to think of it, I think I vaguely remember some fitfreak doing Mini rotors on a GE8... have to search for it though.

You might be on to something. Definitely post up your findings.

Just measured the Mini rotors. There was an option for 11.5" that was cross drilled and slotted (would have been a great value for the price), but it will be too large. The other Mini rotor i measured was just a hair over 11" which is perfect.

Looks like we have a winner.

All this is for GE8, good info here:

https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...nt-brakes.html

There is a writeup on Mini rotors as well but i'm having a hard time finding it.

I think that's the thread about using the Mini rotors, the OP of that thread went with the Mini rotors... Good thread, Wanderer.

Sweet! The Mini rotors do work, then! Well this will be a simple upgrade for my fit Would I be the first person with a GE8 and NSX calipers? I hadn't seen it before.

Aren't those only 10.3"?

Edit:
Here's the specs on the 02-03 civic Si rotors:

For the larger calipers I need 282mm-ish

Sweet im not the only one with dual piston calipers. I wanted NSX calipers but could find any in my price range at the time. What wheels are you going to use?

Looks like i'm not at a good enough financial position to keep the NSX caliper project. I was going to use the stock sport wheels btw.

Yea i ran into the same problem. If you use 15" rims i think you need a backspace of 5 1/2" 's I really don't remember.
