hi,

i'm kind of stumped here. on my older civic i would just remove the lug nuts and the plastic wheel/hub cap would just come off and i wouldn't put it back on(i don't care about cosmetic things)

however with this newer fit i can't seem to access the lug nuts because the hub cap/cover is hiding them. anyone know how to remove the cap so i can get to the lug nuts?

I think i see a metal ring going around the inside circumference of the hub cap. not sure if that's how you get it off tho

Also, they snap in. pull on edges with a good tug.

thank you for the helpful reply. i thought about pulling on them with a little elbow grease but was afraid of breaking them. that's something that has gotten me in trouble in the past. not knowing whether it just needs more force or whether i'm doing it incorrectly...

You can use the rod supplied with the jack that you use to turn the scissor jack as a pry rod, the end is flat so you can stick it between the rim and cap and pop it off. I think there's even a little cutout to stick the pry in.

I just pull them off from the spokes, just pull hard, use two hands on two spokes, they won't break. Old hubcaps can get brittle with age and sun, that's why they crack.

I do suggest you read the manual, it may be helpful for your future endeavors.

Why don't you go buy a pair of roller blades and spare that poor car?

If you can't figure out how to jack the car (hint: check the manual) and you can't remove the hubcaps (second hint: also in the manual) how on earth do you propose to undertake a clutch change without killing yourself or causing thousands in damage?

To top this off - Why do you need to change the clutch on a 2010 Fit already?

i haven't worn out the clutch yet but i don't want to wait until i have to learn how to replace one.
