Which shocks to go with swifts?

Just installed the swifts a week ago and is loving it! On rpf1 16x7j +35 with no brushing =D

However the mechanic told me that my rear right absorber is leaking zzzzz... no sound with driving and going over humps though.. hence i am looking around for suitable absorbers to go with the swifts.
Mine is 2009 ge6 btw.. any advice?

Koni STR.T are coming out this month. Just get those when they're available soon. Swifts would work fine with KYB Excel G as well, but those are just stock replacements. If you're going to replace might as well upgrade.

Yes i was thinking about upgrading too but seems like there are not much options available for ge6. Will look into the str.t. Thanks for the reply! =)

Shocks from GE8 will fit GE6, so include that in your searches. The only major difference AFAIK is the motor. If you search GE6 only you will get less results.

Ohhhh prob that's why i didnt find much haha..
Btw a noob question here... does absorbers affect the height? After installing the springs on stock shocks i still have roughly 3 fingers gap around the 4 wheels.. i know that swifts dont drop much but looking from the pics others have posted with their swifts mine seem to have a slightly bigger gap..

Shocks should have no effect on ride height with a few exceptions, none of which are applicable to you.

Yes, Swifts don't drop much, give them time to settle a little bit. I don't believe they'll go a ton lower than that though. If you're lowering for the dropped look Swifts aren't really the best for that, but IMO they will preform the best out of the available lowering spring + stock shock combos that are out there right now, so you can take solace in that.

swifts dont drop much, therefore they are fine to be worked with stock shocks.. the money u spend on new koni shocks will be equal to new coilover setup. and changing shocks wont change ride height. IMHO you should get coilover setup so you could go lower

Yes wanderer that was my main reason for choosing swifts after reading so many positive comments on it and also it fits my needs for daily driving. I'm taking solace in that

Apexanimal thanks for the advice will look into that this combi.. am still waiting for the str.t to be released

Well, that's like your opinion man...

I didn't want to go very low, wanted linear spring rates with the best dampening I could reasonably get...

= swifts w koni yellow rear and tokico hts fronts...

Thanks for the advice. I did thought of coilovers but not at the current moment as i just want to have a better ride and comfort for DD

As for the springs, it has been a week and i found out that the driver side front and rear is slightly lower than the passenger side..driver side need to squeeze to get 3 fingers in, while on passenger side i can easily fit in 3 fingers... any advice on that..?

Driver's side lean comes standard on a lot of cars

Nothing you can do about it really, it's just the way it is unless you get coilovers. It's not noticeable enough you should care.

Swap spring left/right after a few (tens of) thousands miles. Should even out slightly.

Hey, if you haven't already... Call Chris at bestsuspension.com

I say this because he puts together Koni Yellow Sports (adjustable) for the rear. My ge8 has swifts, and I love having the Koni Yellows!!!! I run them full loose during the week commute... Then can adjust them for more sport enthused driving. I can't wait for the front strut option to come out! He's going to see if he can mate an adjustable yellow with the Koni Strt's coming out soon!

They are not a stock Koni item. He puts together a set to work on the Fits!
