Spark Plug Indexing

Looking at installing

DEN 5310-IK22

In my GE8 Honda Fit.

Was wondering where the open side of the plug should face. Have read that it depends on the car.

Wax your car...that will give you a more noticeable performance improvement than Spark Plug Indexing will on a Fit.

I have never noticed any improvement in performance with indexed plugs.

Thanks for the input. I realize that the HP increase may only be .5 HP, possibly even less. This amount is far less than you can feel driving the car. The Stopwatch might see the tiny added HP though and that is what I am looking for. Perhaps indexing will help efficiency. Read somewhere that the Honda Insight came from the factory with indexed plugs.

Answer:

The open end of the plug needs to point at the Intake Values.

Thanks to De36 for his assistance.

Back in the old days the open end faced the intake valve for us; dyno agreed.
but I doubt it makes much difference now with current squish type head designs.
