11/10/07 Bay Area Fit Meet- New Details
 

I just got back from my scouting trip for this meet. Instead of the previously mentioned Reed's Sport Shop, we will gather in the parking lot of Orchard Supply Hardware (Big Sign saying OSH), This is at 3000 Alum Rock Ave., San Jose, next door to Reed's (OSH has a bigger parking lot). OSH will come up FIRST, before Reed's. It is about 1 mile after you get on Alum Rock from the 680 freeway.

Most of you will be coming South on 680. Alum Rock is the LAST offramp before 680 ends, and the right lanes become 280 North, and the left lanes become 101 South (so be in the right lane). Head EAST on Alum Rock toward the mountains.

We will LEAVE OSH at 10:30 to head up the mountain. We turn right on Hwy. 130 (Mt. Hamilton Road) about 1 1/2 miles East of OSH. The "Joseph P. Grant Ranch Park" is about 8-10 miles up the road, on the right side. There is a brick sign designating the park. The park fee is $6.00 per car.

If you are late, you won't find us at the OSH parking lot. Just keep driving to the park and that's where we'll be until 1:00 p.m. or so. Then we will be about 10 miles farther up, at the observatory at the top of the mountain.

There is no cell signal, at least for Verizon users, at the park!!!!:eek:

Last piece of advice-- bring your food with you. I didn't see any sandwich shops around the meeting site on Alum Rock.

I hope stock Fit is welcome. Mine is all stock (except amsoil). Mine is still all stock without a plate. Ben at AJ is running late....progress bar is late...what can I say.

Well, if it weren't for the Amsoil, you'd be SOL- we're VERY particular about the sort we hang out with. This is a high class group. (You know I'm joking, right??). You are certainly welcome.

I was thinking a week ahead again. I was all ready to head out there this weekend. I guess I'm just a little too eager.:p

Ohhh, we are all eager to go! My buddies are so jealous of us for our meets and fun owning a Fit brings. A guy with WRX is begging to be allowed to serve as a photographer car for my wife just to see us all ruining together! LOL! Others are asking if we would alow "other" Hondas. too! Amazing what pictures and video of Mt. Diablo meet can do!
