Health Care FTW
Oh yeah, Obama's great! Social Security, damn near broke! Medicaid/Medicare, damn near broke. This overstuffed so called "reform" bill with more perks and pork than anyone can imagine ( all of us by the way, way over 2000 plus pages of more government "lawyer" speak ) will most likely go broke as well. If you want to see how to run a program, ANY program as ineffecient and over buget as possible all you have to do is look towards Washington... Sorry but these statement are just proven truth.
Haven't you figured out by now that politicians are just talking heads that are playing the roll they are given by the international ultra wealthy elitist that control everything..... They are all owned just like all of the rest of us.... The whole democracy thing is that you are as free as you think you are because you are being told how you live in the best country in the world because you have this freedom that is protected by our strong military that is now being outnumbered by corporate contractors..... When did they have this contest that we won that we are the worlds best country anyway?

Since 1968 only a Republican Congress has run a budget surplus and that was from 1998 - 2001. In fact, Clinton (DEM.), with a Republican Congress, was running quite a healthy yearly deficit until Newt Gingrich (REP.) showed up with the 'Contract with America.' In terms of public debt, that increased 5% during Clinton's terms and about 5.1% during Bush's terms. I never said I blame the current administration for these problems, - 'If you want to see how to run a program, ANY program as ineffecient and over buget as possible all you have to do is look towards Washington... Sorry but these statements are just proven truth.' Republicans and Democrats have all been corrupted by the power of public office. Yes there are some good politicians, but they are overshadowed by an increasing amount of easily influenced puppets...
Anyhow, this is a CAR (a GREAT car!)forum about something I actually enjoy. I believe there are enough (MORE THAN ENOUGH!) political forums out there should you feel like a good debate. Don't you agree???

I smell a troll...
And yes, you were wrong about it.
Seriously.
That budget information, straight from the Congressional Budget Office, CBO. FTW! My Fit gets great gas mileage so I can pay for health insurance and pay my taxes. My taxes are far more expensive than my health insurance, like most everyone. We all share the burden for our fellow Americans. Proudly I might add.
I don't understand how God fearing conservatives can be against health care. Didn't Jesus teach us that we should love and take care of each other? Are they reading a different bible than I am? I don't remember the bible teaching hate.
I am put off by the fact that the health care plan is one more tool to put more money into corporate coffers..... Allowing big big business to control anything is going to create more debt that the tax payers will be paying to the Federal Reserve...... Corporate owned and managed health care is the reason health care is priced above what most people can afford to pay..... It wasn't always like this.
Bullseye TC. I never stated I was conservative, liberal or anything for that matter. I've been up close and personal with government agencies and have seen the waste first hand. I'd rather right a check right now and "give" or "donate" to the people that need healthcare than have Washington spend ten times more than needed to do it. I'm sure it would save us all a lot of money. And Mike, you 100% right about the bible, who would ever say that it said to hate people?
The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Lyndon Johnson's "Great Society" made an industry out of welfare, enslaving rather then liberating, those it was meant to help. Jimmy Carter pulled the Persian rug out from under the Shah of Iran, who's regime kept the Islamic radicals at bay. The subsequent governments since have been far more onerous than anything the Shah did. The government mandated mortgage assistance programs, by both Dems and Repubs, got houses to people who could not ultimately afford them, and ended up being foreclosed on in the most recent financial crash. Each example is a case of not addressing the root cause of a problem, but the symptoms. Although I am neither Christian nor conservative, I do care about my fellow human beings. I'd rather see them being able to obtain health care because it is affordable, not because our tax dollars subsidizes it to enrich those industries which, by legislative inaction, allows them to gouge us all.
I would rather see money I am forced to pay going for more than undeclared wars on unnamed enemies, contracts awarded to contractors without a bidding process and so many other programs that corporate payed lobbyist are paying off politicians to award to the people paying for their favors.... The bulk of the taxes paid go into corporate accounts and they will even bet against their own financial performance to bilk the majority of their stock holders..... It seems a lot more like a fascist regime than socialism to me.... It wasn't until Reagan was in office that I was required by law to purchase automobile liability insurance..... What I don't get is why so many people are angry at those that are in need and not at those that are really pulling the strings and controlling the wealth of the country...... The power of mass media is what I am pretty sure is responsible for this division of the citizenry by the two party system and it is obvious to me who controls it.

One half of one percent controls fifty percent, the next four and a half is in control of forty five percent...... Ninety five percent of the population is fighting to control the five percent that is theirs...... Not all of those controlling the largest potion of the wealth living in the U.S. and some aren't even citizens..... Why is it that everybody seems to want to make sure that those at the top don't have to pay a proportional amount of taxes?.....I sure didn't see anyone that was from a financially prominent family anywhere around while I was in the jungle while in Vietnam, but like all wars they are the ones that benefit from them...... Some of them protested the war when it was possible that they might be drafted..... They were the ones that were heard but since there is no longer a draft lottery and they are safe there is no one listening to anyone that is willing to point out what is wrong with what is being spent on the wars being fought that will likely go on forever as long as those at the top can stay in control...... The health care issue is a diversionary tactic to prevent attention from being focussed on what is costing the tax payers are paying most dearly for.
I understand there to be strongly mixed public opinion on the bill, definitely not a smart endeavor if that was their goal. If the bill turns out to be good politically for democrats it will be to everyone's surprise. And, remember, there weren't any republicans even involved.

The 2 parties are only different side of the same coin...... I personally think there should be health care reform, I know what it is like not being able to get coverage because of a preexisting condition that was caused by military service but misdiagnosed then.....This emotional issue is like so many others that have been used as a means to distract the mainstream away from issues that will harm the people but be ignored while large corporations score big time..... One of the negative things that will occur is that large corporations that employ thousands of people at low wages will be able to stop offering group rate insurance to their employs.Wal-Mart is one of them that comes to mind since their former CEO has publicly spoken in favor of it.....Because there is much to be gained by many corporations universal health care will come to be but that will be ignored and it will be labeled as socialistic instead of as a capitalistic program.
