Question about Greddy Exhaust
Has anyone got pulled over with the greddy ti-c exhaust locally ?

|
ohs icic haha, was talking to one of the fit member i see mostly and was like he giving up his skunk2 exhaust for tanabe so idk haha he was like telling me to stay away from the hks greddy and skunk2 so idk what up lmfao jus doing some double checking
|
I've owned/heard all 4 exhausts you mentioned on my s2k, and I've heard all 4 in person on my friends' fits.
If stock is rated 1/10 in volume and (0/10 drone): Tanabe.....2/10 (0/10 drone) HKS..........4/10 (1/10 drone) Greddy......6/10 (3/10 drone with silencer; 6/10 without) Skunk2......8/10 (10/10 ridiculous drone) I've never been pulled over in my s2k for exhaust with my hks and greddy single (silencer) and I daily 20 miles a day. I hope this helps somewhat. I will get the HKS when I get my fit :hyper: |
you can be pulled over at any time for modified exhaust. BUT, if it meets the 95 db requirements and you carry certification, you may just get away with it. Also, you can challenge the officer with which device he or she used to measure the db for which they pulled you over. Also, IIRC, they have to measure it at an angle of 45 deg off the bumper and 3 ft away. They will most likely still ticket you and you'll have to appear in front of a judge, show your proof then pay the $25 fee and be on your way. Is it worth it?
27151. (a) No person shall modify the exhaust system of a motor vehicle in a manner which will amplify or increase the noise emitted by the motor of the vehicle so that the vehicle is not in compliance with the provisions of Section 27150 or exceeds the noise limits established for the type of vehicle in Article 2.5 (commencing with Section 27200). No person shall operate a motor vehicle with an exhaust system so modified. (b) For the purposes of exhaust systems installed on motor vehicles with a manufacturer's gross vehicle weight rating of less than 6,000 pounds, other than motorcycles, a sound level of 95 dbA or less, when tested in accordance with Society of Automotive Engineers Standard J1169 May 1998, complies with this section. Motor vehicle exhaust systems or parts thereof include, but are not limited to, nonoriginal exhaust equipment |
lol i wouldnt care about modded exhaust i can tell u, i have dealt with bs from cops. just do it and if u get a ticket just get it written off, simple....
|
I didn't say not to do it, did i? The OP questions the legality of it and I cited it accordingly. Also, its up to the discretion of the LEO to write it as a fix it ticket or not. I have had that ticket both ways.

yes i kno the circumstances of it i was just wondering from the local areas since some cops just let it slide and just wanna see how often they do cited it
|
just don't give em a reason to pull you over when you drive. your exhaust wont be loud enough for them to bother if you're running stock piping.
|
yeah ill b using the stock pipe thanks for the advice on that konespeed
