DIY T1R Carbon Intake
Got mine installed finally. Thanks much for the DIY.
Really quiet below 3K RPM then you can hear a new growl. Not noticeable on freeway--thank goodnes (hate the drone).
Great throttle response, can really feel a TQ difference, not sure yet about HP improvement for passing.
Overall great bang for the buck and recommended mod!

hey love the intake but looking to get a new filter. i measured the intake and its about 5" and i went to every autopart store and cant find one to fit it just wondering if a 4" one will fit because that is the biggest one they have????? please let me know thanks
I had it for a while and didn't notice a thing as far as power was concerned. A little change in sound at certain RPM, but no real power gain.
Had to finally quit messing around and go KW supercharger.
You'll get more power gain out of a set of their cooler iridium than this intake, IMO.

grats on yours though.Anyway, I have a 2006 jazz 1.3 Litre I-dsi here in Australia, it accelerates better at lower RPM because it's an I-dsi (vtec performs better at higher rpms) so I was wondering if this thing only kicks off at 4k RPM, would it kinda be a waste for the I-dsi engine? it probably performs best at 2.8-3.5k RPM...
Or would a short ram intake be a better solution for this? inputs please! New to these car modifications so all information would definitely help!
Thanks in advance guys!

How much would u sell the T1R Carbon Intake? Will u Ship to Miami? can u please email me asap.. Very much interested.. dj_erijesse@yahoo.com
I've been averaging anywhere between 26 and 34mpg here in the city depending on how clever I am.
I just installed the intake last week and haven't done much driving yet but I'll report my MPG findings once I've run a few tanks through.
As long as I stay off the skinny pedal I'm predicting little change.

ok. I've had the intake on for aout half a year now...actually a little longer.
But the fuel economy seems to be a little worse but not much. it depends on how much I've been doing hard accelerations. Not a big enough difference to notice.
I just got down with a 1K Mile road trip and I averaged 33mpg doing high interstate speeds and I did have the car packed with luggage.
It sounds good but I have noticed that my piping to vent gases back into the intake is falling apart. Where can I get a rebulld kit?
The filter sits really close to the battery and the intake will rub the batter from time to time. May need a smaller battery or at least figure out how to move it over.

I got the K&N RF-1005 from K&N online.
or just longer?
If the forward/backward size increase is all then you may be able to work it in there. Especially if you trim the plastic sleeve around the battery and medd with the tie-down. You can't go much wider because you would be rubbing right against the intake chamber.
