Question windshield spots won't come off!

okay, so there are what appear to be on my front windshield, grease spots. i took a long road trip recently and came back with lots of bugs on the windshield, washed them off. but as of yesterday i've been noticing these "greasey" spots on the outside of the window. i've used turtle wax bug&tar remover and ive tried scrubbing real hard with a wash cloth and windex even. nothing phases it. when you wipe they appear to go away, but as soon as the area dry they come right back. is it possible for a windshield to "soak up" grease? or has someone vandalized my car? thanks for everyone's input ahead of time. sorry there's no pics, i tried, but the camera won't show what i'm talking about...

grease spots? Are they streaky, swirly, or circular? I have a problem with water spots. After I wash the car, I can only dry about half before the other side is already dry and spotty (Florida heat is ridiculous). Could it be water spots for you? I have them all over the windows and I can't get them off. I must really suck at washing cars lol.

Those guys are not greese spots they are rain deposits, go grab some steel wool and some glass cleaner and go to work, a d bit of light pressure with the wool while keeping the area wet with the cleaner will get it off. We have this problem with cars at my dealer and this is how we get them off.

and no it wont scratch your glass.

I dunno man, steel wool on my car? That scares me a little bit. What if I just sweat my nuts off trying to scrub the windows to death with some soapwater and a rag?

A vinegar solution will dissolve the calcium from the water spots.

DONT use steel wool, all you are going to do is scratch the window, even if it is very fine it will still be scratched. Vinegar, soda, etc all dont work either. Use this stuff, I ordered it for the hell of it when I had my last vehicle that had terrible water spots all over the windows on an entire side, this took care of them. Need a little elbow grease, but they will come off. I ordered mine online, but Home Depot carries it now.

Hard water stains, acid rain, auto glass repair, spot-x, rust stains, cleaning product, water spots

I even had the local detailer try to remove a small area to see if they could get it off, and they couldnt. When I went back and showed the manager, and showed him what I used, he was pretty impressed. Said he was gonna get the stuff also.

rain-x works well to remove spots and greasy film on glass. if you
keep a coat of this stuff it will be easier to remove next time.

i would also try clay and glass polish on my RO for stubborn stains.

try use diamond magic its like $14 and it does the job right. all u have to do is put it on a rag and rub the water spots and rinse it off but danger DONT get it on your paint will eat it up but if u do it before u wash your car your fine. you can get it at city mill or Home Depot they use it for taking off water spots on house's so u know its good stuff it took off water spots off a car that had it for 7 years!! mean..

I use rainx too and it's always been good to me....
usually apply about once a month and i have never had problems with spots?
Some of these other ideas may work too but after you get it cleaned i would just
try and keep a nice coat of rainx on ur windows.... you will love it

Just fyi, Rain X isnt getting rid of the spots, its just coating the windsheild and masking the fact that they are there.

The SpotX stuff I mentioned that you can get at Home Depot is in the cleaning section. Usually where they have windex, mops, etc.

Permatex makes a glass stripper that is a very soft abrasive, takes spots right off with a little effort.
