Gm
I was a GM fan for years and when your "check engine" light went on and Mr goodwrench couldn't make it go away you went into the dash and unhooked the bulb. It's no wonder I drive a Honda after having that "great GM feeling" so many times. Unhook the bulb associated with the emission system warning light. It's your car, of course, but I'll bet that annoying light won't be the last of the "issues" caused by your "shortcut".

yeah i had my ota pickup gutted and never threw a code so idk either but o well i ges ill try a scanner or just live wit the light not that big of a deal

Is $685 just for the part? If so then it could be an incredibly meaningful lesson assuming the owner ever hopes to sell the vehicle and get a decent price for it. |
bull shit i can have a muffler shop throw on a new high flow cat for 80 bucks as long as my o2 censer is ok i still have vtech so i know it havent fried the o2 yet :)

i dunno how to fix your problem. but if it's only $80 maybe you should just save up for a high-flow cat now.

That was the price I got for a replacement cat from Majestic Honda. And $80 could have practically got you the cat-delete in the first place.

You can try a defouler. If it works on cat-deletes, I don't see why it wouldn't work on a cat.

You'll need a defouler for a cat delete or you have a cel gauranteed. The defouler spaces the secondary o2 sensor further away from the exhaust stream "tricking" the ecu into thinking the cat is still there doing it's job. For the most part it should work, but it's not a guarantee that the cel won't pop back up.

Defoulers should be less then $10 at any auto-parts store. Good luck :)
