its pretty simple. they are on the firewall side. if you are turbo, you will have to remove a section of intercooler tubing to get to them which isnt a big deal, just a little annoying. 10mm socket to remove the bolt that holds down the coil packs, pull that out, get an extension on the socket wrench, and pull those bad boys out!.

For the unfortunate GE8 owners, all of the above has to be done by "feel" because you can't see anything behind the engine. The entire engine is taller, and there is no "manifold cover" that you can remove to provide better clearance for vision or access for your hands. Everything has to be done by touch around the left side of the engine- no access from the right side.

at least you arent an audi owner. my friend has to remove his whole intake manifold to get to his plugs. the engineers were either very arrogant about the reliability of the engine or they just overlooked it while designing all the other gadgets and gizmos on the car

After making the 955-mile drive (in 20 hours with a nap after about 14) from North Carolina to Wisconsin, my plugs fouled soon thereafter. Is it from driving almost non-stop that may have contributed to them fouling? I was FI at the time (KWSC). It was first week of June 2008.

I'm N/A now. Running Autolite (napa item number ASPXP5224). OE equivalent, says the website and the employee that helped me out when my 3rd set of plugs fouled sometime in August.

Its normally white build up. I think your color is due to low AFR's (running rich) and the anti-knock additive youre talking about.

When you run race gas youre suppose to bump timing and/or boost up.
Race gas is a safety for high boost, aggressive timing, or both.

My Mazda ran on 100oct, 22psi, advanced timing, and 12.5 AFR's.
High AFR's but the octane kept it safe. I pushed the limit of 100oct though. I should have been running 114.

That SAME THING happened to my plugs when I was running nitrous. I was really nervous about detonation so I ran Sunoco 94 octane +a bottle of octane booster (or 2 if I was feeling flush) every time I squeezed. My plugs looked all rusty. Car ran great though.

E85??

anyone running e85 ethanol on boosted fit's? it's considered 105+ octane equivelent(sp) and it's cheaper than unleaded, it's hella cleaner and has never fouled a plug on me (crx@17lbs) (knock on wood) the more e85 you throw at it the more power it makes and colder it gets (within reason) gas is the opposite, the more you lean it out the more power it makes and the hotter it gets.
i was just wondering if anyone is running e85 and figure i don't need to start a new thread, cause if anyone that is running it will be interested in this thread enought to read it

NO! you just have to flow 20percent more fuel to make the same HP
i'm running 660 RC injectors and would max them out running over 22 or so lbs of boost on my sohc 1.6 vtec motor
i know it sounds like alot more fuel but race gas (100+ to 114 octane) is wwwaaaayyyyy more costly that e85 the biggest problem is finding a station that sells it!
the last time i bought e85 was 4 months ago (putting a new block in the crx) and it was about .40 cheaper than unleaded and at the time i converted over (6 months ago) 105 octane was $9.50 a gallon so e85 at $3.74 a gallon! well what would you do???
