nonsense, consult the factory service manual.you'll need to relieve fuel pressure which is done by removing a fuse that controls the fuel pump. then crank the engine. the motor will run and then die. crank a few more times. now that the pressure is gone, unhook the rubber fuel lines going to filter. make sure you label them so they dont get mixed up or lost. remove the filter. replace. hook up the lines correctly. reinstall fuel pump fuse, and then crank engine until pressure comes back and your motor starts running. let it run for awhile and check all the hose connections for any leaks. any questions pm me.

 

you might want a rag or towel around when you unhook the fuel lines, a lil' bit of fuel might spill out. (not a lot though!) and one more thing- if you blow up your ride, i'm not responsible.

 

i'm pretty sure it's an internal fuel filter. meaning, it's within the pump assembly, therefore, it's not replaced on a regular basis
