Washed car while snowing

Well, got out all the carwash stuff yesterday, filled the bucket, and it started to snow. So I was like, what the frak, I'll do it anyway. The car was really dirty so I figured it couldn't get any worse. It stopped snowing by the time I rinsed, so all was OK, and the Fit looks great now. But I just had to post it because everybody walking by in the neighborhood was like this: :rotfl: Yes, I am the dork washing his car in the snow.

dont worry about it man, you are not alone. It was not snowing, but it was freaken cold a month ago here in OK when i washed my car.

and you know, its a quiet street until you're out there washing your car in 40 degree temps and wind gusts, then everybody in the neighborhood has somewhere to go and drive right past you.

:wavey:

You are definitely not alone - I wash in 32 degree weather! We had snow on and off all day but the weekend is to be nicer so I am waiting until then to give mine a bath!

dang...you guys are crazy. the coldest temp i wash outdoors is 36F. otherwise my driveway gets in the shade (due to house) and when wind picks up a little all freezes. lol

Yes that is why I was going to the car wash and bucket washing in the bay but got busted by the owner and he
told me I was basically stealing from him by not using his lame soap and his dirty brushes.

I washed my car in -10 (C). I wanted to get all the road salt off of it.
It looked better than all the other cars on the road
The next day I had to walk to the store to buy lock de-icer :(

It was 95 degrees fahrenheit today... :D Just in case you were wondering.

That's cool, we're hanging around the 60's now. I actually used to live in Florida, but it got a little too warm for me. . .

I washed my car in high 30s during March in New Jersey. I'm sure people thought I was nuts. Who cares? The Fit makes you crazy lol

conditions don't always dictate!

I recently got a new job in a limestone mine. We're obligated to park in a shallow mine area where the limestone dust "cakes" our cars. My point is, on Saturday, rain or shine I'm washing the fit. I hate my job but it pays VERY well. I love the fit and regardless of the weather on Saturday I'm washing it. Do I look crazy washing it in the rain? Yes! Do what you have to do!

Not too bad...my first winter in North Dakota I pulled a rook mistake. I'm from Washington state, so we sometimes pour cold water on the windshield to get ice off...and it turns to liquid and runs off. Nope, this pitcher of water froze right to the windshield and 20 minutes later, I finally scraped it all off!!!

But now I'm acclimated to it...took my bike out for a ride a few months ago in 15 degrees and blowing snow...and had another rook mistake: left my helmet visor down and it froze over while I was riding!!! And not only that, but still snowing, here I am with my helmet still on cuz it's freezing out, rinsing the slush off the bike before putting it back inside!!!

Gotta do what ya gotta do! hahaha!

I have definitely washed my car in the snow, but at least I have a heated garage to bring it back to.

chinky 09-24-2009 10:56 PM

Konservative 11-18-2009 08:18 PM

I remember cleaning my cars mats in Montana then having to take them inside with me so they did not freeze into sheets of ice.

Clean is important to me regardless of weather. I will find a way to make it work.
