Whats the best tar remover

Our country roads have been oil & chipped recently.
Just my luck I was driving the new Fit that day.

I'd like to give it a good cleaning this weekend, but
need something to get the tar off.

Is this different than a clay bar?

pbz08gd3 09-04-2009 01:31 PM

HARSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! spare my clear coat would you pls.

j/k i like the clay because it leaves no residue i washed my car thoroughly then hit it with the clay while wet and got everything off even spots of white paint from a paint can i ALMOST hit but the tires still kicked some on my passenger side

then waxed that sucker to a finish as smooth as an asian booty :rotfl:

for real bad tar marks i use RC car motor spray or nitro cleaner. :) works amazingly well.

for light tar i just use some spray wax (Griot's SprayOn Wax).

WD-40 works great and wont harm the paint. Only problem with it though is that it will strip any wax that is on the paint so you will have to re-apply wax.

most tar removers remove wax so you're good there. :D

but if you use WD40 you'll need to use some alcohol or RC motor spray to remove the oil before you wax...so it's double work.

motor spray (or RC nitro cleaner) can be found at your local
hobby store that sells RC stuff. or try towerhobbies.com
