2009 Fit Sport non-nav stereo - LF Speaker Lost it's Bass!

I've had my FIT for about 4 months now, and the other day I noticed that my stereo didn't sound right; the left front speaker seems to have lost it's bass completely! It sounds just like a tweeter (the tweeter on the dash is still working normally as far as I can tell, just the door woofer seems screwed up.) It doesn't sound blown out or distorted, just has no bass at all.

We just got our first dusting of snow, and the temperature dropped pretty rapidly, so I'm wondering if that may have had something to do with it?

Anybody have a similar problem? Is there some kind of crossover connected between the tweeter and woofer that could have shorted?

My LF speaker has had an occasional bass grumble in the last week. It will sound like it is blowing out for a minute then return to normal. I have been blaming the cold too.

Actually since you mention that, that did happen to me. I thought nothing of it because it did go back to normal at the time. I just noticed yesterday that it wasn't normal.

Do you have the black 09' fit sport M/T also?

I have a Black 09 Sport auto. I wonder if anyone else is having this issue?

Did you by chance get yours from Troy Honda? I'm gonna wait a bit and see what I can do to diagnose it myself without taking apart too much before I call them up.

Mine actually came from Bloomfield Honda. I really hope the issues you found on that 06' post were solved. I'll have to listen more closely to that speaker.

Your car should still be under warranty; use it. Warranty is one of the benefits of paying top dollar for a new car, rather than buying used.

Your speaker's blown. That simple.

My left front speaker did exactly the same thing that I confirmed when I turned it on alone. It was a very cold night, around 10 degrees. I found if I turned the volume way up, it would start, then distort, then die again. Then after 2 or 3 days, it worked normally again, as it does now. I wonder if some water made it into the door and froze, then melted, allowing it to work. I sometimes lower the window for better visibility in snowy conditions when looking left. This might allow water into the door in the speaker area. This is only a guess.
