Whinning noise under acceleration

So Im getting this whinning noise under acceleration, it is more prominant in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gears. Is this a normal drivetrain sound or should I take in to the dealer??

Auto or Manual, Year? Most likely the beautiful sound of a VTec.

I was thinking more of the engine than the engage, any way, does the sound occur at idle out of gear when you rev? When you do hear it is it constant pitch or does it vary with engine speed. Bearing noise - belt noise - not too much else right off the top.

Its definitely matching the rev of the engine and its only when its under a load. IDK maybe im being excessively picky???

How long have you driven it?

Is this the first time you noticed it?

A close look at the engine as it running revels nothing and it's hard to look at when driving, the noise could possibly be coming from the tranny - hard to tell from where I sit.

A good reason to have a local shop/dealer to go to. They aren't all crooks out to steal your $$'s. If it sounds wrong and it is it isn't going to get better on its own - cars ain't like that. And until some one confirms the issue you don't know.

I don't know the exact situation you are having but i have noticed in many cars (not just fits) that have a radio with an aux port with a line in of some sort develop a whine that changes in pitch according to engine speed. The radio has to be on with a device that is turned off. I have noticed this happening with a subaru impreza and audi a4 so it is not vehicle specific
