Swirl and scratches on tail light..

Just picked up a set of jdm non led tail. But it has some pretty bad scratches on it. What's the best way to get rid of them... I already tried plastix, it didn't work... Suggestion?

I have had good results from "Blue Magic" and other metal polishes.. Most stuff that is made to polish plastic isn't course enough to smooth out bad scratches but will do a good job of making the surface super smooth after using a courser metal polish. If the scratches are real deep you may want to start off with "Mother's Mag Wheel Polish"

Try the 3M headlight kit for $15 at any autoparts store, should do just fine on taillights as it does on headlights, just remember you will want a polish/sealer after you have done it.

Look for Novus Plastic Polish. The stuff has been around forever, it's used to remove scratches from plastic convertible windows and restore them to optical clarity. Also works quickly and easily to restore and remove swirls/scratches from headlight plastics.

It's a 3 step system. You start with the 3, which will actually scratch the shit out of the plastic you're polishing. Then move onto the #2, which is a fine polish then use the #1 to buff with. It will remove really decent scratches pretty easily.

After you polish headlights or tail lights you'll need to reseal them.

You can usually wax them and it will hide the scratches, or just take it to a detailer and they can buff them out
