The AJ-Racing guys might be able to shed some light, they seem to work pretty closely with J's, lets hope one of them sees this.

Knew about this a few months ago from the J's blog and my friend in Japan, but didn't bother bringing it up as they weren't released yet and still prototyping it. I have a feeling (and my friend agrees) it may fit just fine as the '06 JDM Fits use the same header as ours, though the bung is for a different sensor. The website says that in the case of O2 sensor equipped cars (ours) you can fit the sensor same as stock. The site says it's handmade from 1.2-1.5mm SUS 304 stainless, with the flange made by lost-wax casting. It also says that matching it with the 50RR or similar straight-type mufflers is best. Other companies mufflers will work fine as long as they would normally work w/ the stock Fit exhaust setup. Gains are 9-10PS which is about the same amount in HP. They also offer a version with thermal wrapping for increased flow performance and to lower the underhood temps, a weakness of the Fit. They've been prototyping and testing it for about a year now, so I pretty sure they got their act together on this one.

Good, that means more for headers available for those that know an excellent part when they see one.

No problem. I needs to get me one of these myself I think. (assuming we know it fits for certain)

why spend 700+ dollars on a shorty header for little to no gain... rather wait for the T1R or the DC race header. oh and hand made doesn't always mean better... leaves more room for mistakes.

A 9hp gain for just the header alone is not little to no gains -- it's almost a 10% gain, which is pretty damn good on a little engine like the L15. By comparison, the full T1R setup (I/H/E/pulley) made 14.6, but the bulk of that was from the intake/exhaust/pulley as the header only added 4.6 of that. That's not a knock on the T1R by any means, I'm just going off of the charts and data available. Yes, I realize it's different cars on different dynos, but gotta work with what available. The T1R does seem to make its peak torque lower than the J's -- 4k rpm vs. 4500, which is good, but loses puff in the higher revs. Boils down again to 'what are you gonna use your car for?' and picking the part best for your needs. I don't care about price, and wouldn't feel bad about purcahsing either one as Ben gets the money either way. Definitely, I'm watching the T1R too. DC I've never liked, so don't care about them.

Can't argue the chance for mistakes, but J's has a high reputation to maintain and they're not going to blow it with a sub-standard product. Japanese craftsmanship is generally of a very high standard, I would expect no less of the J's header. Besides, it's not the first header they've ever made -- they've had quite a few others out for a long time now, and haven't heard anything bad about them at all. Hop on Minkara and look at the reviews, they're glowing in almost all cases.

A&J Racing :: Intake & Exhaust :: Fit/Jazz (GD3/4) :: J's Racing Header - Honda Fit / JAZZ 02-06 GD3
although they dont state if it fits USDM or not.

mmmm... i highly doubt the J's will make 9whp, i don't think the little fit engine is capable of getting a gain like that from a header.... maybe a full race header like the jackson racing or the DC that is coming out, but not some shorty header, thats expecting way to much from a shorty header.... i believe strongly that you won't see much difference from a megan racing shorty to a mugen/j's/spoon/T1R its just tubalar pipes going to a collector... not some magical wizard of ozz piping. the only way i see a difference in potienal gains or loss would be in the piping diameter. if you want a shorty header at a good price, go with the megan racing header, if you want good quality shorty and don't mind paying the extra premium, then go with the T1R. If you want maxium power and topend, get the jackson racing header or wait for the DC race header....

wow, no wonder they saw 9 whp, they are you a dynapack most exagerated dyno ever created, dyno dynamics is would be like 2.5whp gain.

I tend to agree about the meagerness of these power increases. It seems the little engine has been tuned to perfection from the factory, and that we're not going to see much more power from traditional bolt-on mods, for the price. I've never understood why people buy such expensive parts when the power increase is relatively small. I think the T1R intake presents a decent price for what it does. And I'm not going to argue against the aftermarket's prices, as they invest significant resources to develop these parts...so you're paying for someone's engineering and R&D to build something that, in the end will only increase 9hp, which is disputable based on measurment accuracy. Compare this to the Hondatech re-flashes which I've seem can pick up 20-30hp on the SI and TSX, etc.

I've said it before, but the only real value these i/h/e mods will present is when a cam/head package comes available, or if combined w/ a turbo or supercharger. By themselves, they won't amount to much. $1,400 for parts is just too much for 10-15 Hp in my opinion, and yes I'm even taking into account overall power increase, not just peak. Just my opinion though. Guess I'm spoiled by Mustang bolt-ons...The same $1,400 can be applied to a 5.0 and gains of $40-50 hp are not unrealistic (total output around 300+ hp).

i hear ya. I've had stangs, camaros and an impala and it's definitely different. imports are hard to get more hp but they're more efficient so that's a factor and of course the tiny engines. $3500 for the jackson racing 5 pound sc will give 30-40 hp. that'd be a nice upgrade.
