I don't understand...

Maybe I'm just missing something, but how does changing the engine mounts increase any kind of performance?

leonine 05-20-2008 10:09 AM

it doesn't add horsepower just gets it to the ground faster because the engine doesn't torque as much. improves drivability...especially if your boosted!

anybody get a set of MT engine/tranny mounts yet? specifically the rear mount(probably the one responsible for all the wheel hop)?

driving autocross, almost whenever i have wheelspin, i have wheel hop. like exiting a pivot cone, or long sweepers where all i get is inside wheelspin, i have very violent wheel hop.

I just placed my order today for a set of 75A mounts for the manual trans. I need mine replaced very badly.. the lower stock mount is done on my car.. but that's what I get for almost doubling the stock HP

Did you ever get your mounts in? Can you verify in this pic below that these are the manual trans mounts?

These are the ones I got from Swap Shop Racing.. they are supposed to be for the manual transmission but they look awfully similar to the auto trans ones...

Actually after looking closer to leonines pics, this one cleary shows that 2 are the same or similar and the one in the top right corner in the top pic is different than his mount which is in the bottom right corner of the bottom pic... whew! I was worried there for a minute!

bump for the 60A review

How much are the Innovative mounts going for? I looked on their site, but I don't see any product applications for the Fit. Are these just the stock replacements? I'm looking for the K20 swap mounts, doesn't Innovative make them also? Also, how do they compare to the HASport's?

Any long term reviews? Looking into a set of these withint the next couple months but before I drop $350 on steel mounts (for the price I'd expect billet) I want to see if anyones been driving on these for a while and how they're holding up.

My car is sitting out front right now because this is where I'm at and there was nothing supplied with my mounts, no bolts or washers. As you can see the backbone of the new mount comes in contact with the non recessed portion of the engine mount. I'm waiting to see what Innovative has to say(called/emailed).

For those of you installing these on a MT you will need no less than 2 Jacks to remove/install the rear mount.

Attachment 27162

you will need to remove both drivers side mounts completely along with the front drivers side mounting arm (already removed in the picture) or it will stop against the frame and wont give you the space to get that rear mount in.

Attachment 27163

With the 3 bolts removed from the frame side of the passenger mount, jack up the motor and trans like this.

Attachment 27164

Now you will be able to get that rear mount in place.

Help!!! Resurrecting Old dead thread, trying to install my mounts on a manual '08 and the tranny mount inner bushing diameter is larger than the OEM mount, allowing slop with the OEM bolt:
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/atta...ine=1357253350

It does look similar to the originally mount posted earlier in here:

Can anyone confirm if this is correct/kosher?! :hyper:

Go to fastenal and get a new 8 or 10 grade bolt... Better safe...

I haven' been able to check it out in person but I was told that this goes into a threaded boss on the side of the engine so a bigger bolt can't be used...

apexanimal 01-04-2013 07:27 PM

Metal spacer is going to be your only option then... McMaster Carr would be a good place too...

TPColgett 01-04-2013 07:45 PM

Well, I finally got in contact with a Rep at Innovative. I sent him an Email and my shipping address. He thinks that because I ordered the 75A, they made a manufacturing mistake and pressed in a "standard" type busing/sleeve as opposed to the specific one... waiting on a replacement...
