J's Racing 50RS Sound Clip?
I saw the one by (I believe) Dougiepants and it sounds good. I believe that is the headerback version of it and I was wondering if anyone has a sound clip of just the axle-back J's exhaust. This is going to be my daily driver, so I want the look and a little sound without it being too loud. :)

You're in luck, I've been meaning to do this for a while now, and I had to go pick up some take-out right after reading your post anyway, so here you go. Sorry for the lame visuals, I just set the camera on the seat while I was driving. First half is w/ windows down, and second is with them up. While it may seem loud in the vid, keep in mind I have an intake that's adding to the fray; if you compare it to the surrounding sounds (keys, birds, wind, other cars, etc.) you'll notice it's really pretty quiet in comparison. In fact, it's not much louder than the stock piece -- just more bass down at low revs while gaining some volume at ~5k+. The performance gains are nice as well, and worth it just for that alone.

Really appreciate it. Sounds good. Might not be loud enough for me, so I may add the rest of the headerback later. :D

Definitely. Dougiepants's videos make the exhaust sound MUCH louder than your vids. :) I guess Ill order just the axle-back and then go from there.

Yeah, he had the whole thing installed -- cat-delete, center-pipe, and tail. From what my some of my Japanese friends said, once you get the center-pipe on it changes the whole feel of it, and the cat-delete even more. J's site says the muffler was designed to meet the Japanese car inspection guidelines, so by itself it's ~91db, but with the center pipe it's ~96db. I really think you'll like it though, it's nice being able to build it up a piece at a time if you want to.

Thank you Chikubi !
Interested in the J's racing 50rs also. The sound bites, was it recorded with or without a silencer ? Thanks. |
No silencer, the axle-back doesn't need it if it's by itself.
