Honda Fi places 2nd in pre-qualification lap time!

"J's Racing Honda Fit GT" K-series all motor Fit! In the straigt at the START flag it passed everyone with it's overall straigtline speed, but needs further modification to suspension in my opinion to take the victory.

Nice to hear all of those K-series motors!

K20a

The K20A setup costs enough money w/ K-Pro. I would hope it performs like an animal!:D

Dude, those videos just further demonstrate the superiority of the older chassis to the modern ones. They're lighter and have dbl wishbone front and rear. ;_; torsion beam rear suspension https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/images/icons/icon13.gif

jits14 09-18-2007 09:45 AM

the fit woulda placed higher if the driver wasn't so sloppy

You are correct! The EK's were the last of the Frt/Rear Double wishbone suspensions, and those suspensions performed well on their specific chassis that they were designed on.

It's not the chassis that is double wishbone, So I wouldn't say that the "newer" chassis' like the new gen civics and the Fit are inferior.

It is said that the new suspension's are to not allow the chassis to flex as much.

"From Honda"
(Control-Link MacPherson Strut front suspension design: This advanced design provides the precise handling, stability and comfort of a double-wishbone layout with packaging efficiency that is difficult to achieve with a conventional front double-wishbone design. )

Still no excuse for the rear suspension on the fit. And of course overall the Fit in particular, as compared to the new gen civics, the fit is NOT designed to perform the same.

It can be converted to double wishbone for ones with enough $. Until then...... Win-on Ek's and EG's.

Well, the car seemed in my opinion not to handle well in the turns, I don't think it was driver error, it seemed like suspension deficiency to me. IT Sure was Fast in the First Striaght!~!! Passing by ALL!

aaaaaaaanywayz....

so how's that swap coming? oh yea, just information for anyone with a K20: my friend at skunk2 has a RSX-S that they test their cams and stuff on and he said that with the Stage 2 cams and valvesprings and retainers, the K20a2 gained nearly 20hp when they swaped in the K20z3's intake manifold. So if you want to grab that intake manifold for a cheap upgrade. Oh yea, and their large bore throttle bodies should be coming out soon.

gettinafit 09-19-2007 07:13 PM

Z3 manifold does not fit due to space in the engine bay on the FIT only.

But that's good to know for others with K20a2 swaps!

Still waiting for parts..... hopefully sometime this week......

Nope Z3 engine and Z3 TB with a homemade adapter to up convert the A2 monifold bolt pattern. (No-one up converts normally, usually they get the RBC manifold and get an adapter for the existing TB DBW if necessary)

Anywayz, it is what it is.

Would you mind taking a picture? I would like to see if the harness is different from the prototype Hondata threw together for Hasport's original swap.

Good Luck :)
