ASPEC B Pipe Installed - Burning Smell?
Did anyone notice a burning smell after installing their B Pipes?
|
i think its the resonator or something.
usually mufflers do that, itll go away after it breaks in. |
Yep, its totally normal.. it'll go away after about 30 mins of driving.
I just installed my T1R B-Pipe and it stunk for a little bit too, but now its all goooooood |
Its the oils from your hands burning away, and the metals breaking it.
Similar smells when driving a new car for the first time. |

Similar smells when driving a new car for the first time. I would put the smell closer to a burning marshmallow? |
Uhhh.... Just smells odd. Thats how Id explain it. :D
I barely smelled it on my car. |
Smells like burning rubber sort of. Hopefully it will be gone by tomorrow.
|
It's normal, it should be gone after a week or so. I also had this smell when I installed my T1R b-pipe.

if it smells like burning rubber, just make sure something isn't touching the pipe and burning. i thought it smelled more like burning marshmallows or sugar actually. if it smells like burning rubber i'd check to make sure nothing is really burning. otherwise, it's normal for a new exhaust.

Nothing touching as far as I can see. The smell is starting to go away. Just scared me for a minute.

It is normal. Most exhaust (especially stainless steel) come with oils on them and in them to protect them. I will burn off eventfully. Most of the time you will see white smoke for the first couple hours.
