Hi all,

Thought I'd drop you all a quick update on some highway driving tests I did today, despite the fact that there are photo enforcement zones all over the Phoenix area.

From a dead stop at freeway onramp meters, WOT acceleration is much improved, and it feels like there's a more significant surge than with the more stock setup. The engine feels like it responds better to throttle blips for some reason, and doesn't get bogged down as much between shifts at lower rpms.

The additional surge really helps when going around and passing other vehicles. The Fit has always felt very sluggish in this regard, and although it's not what you would get from a K-swap or FI, I felt much more confident today with the full I/H/E system. 3000-6000rpm passing acceleration felt great, and the car is just a lot more fun to drive without it feeling overwhelmingly so. I imagine this will really help when driving on the interstates, short onramps or on steeper uphill grades.

As an update, I've gone back and forth a few times between the 50s v2 and GReddy Ti-C, and in the end, I really do prefer the 50s v2 coupled with the AJR header, b-pipe, and the stock airbox w/ a drop-in filter.

Got an AT GD3 and just installed the T1R Midpipe today. I've had the T1R Carbon Power Chamber Intake for 3 years and T1R Response Headers for 1 year now. Here are my thoughts:

T1R Carbon Power Chamber - Low end wasn't really affected and allows top end power (after 3.5K) to finally be felt. I swapped in my stock intake after a year and noticed how restrictive it made the airflow 3.5K and up. Put the T1R back on and never plan on going back except for smog.

T1R Response Headers - I've only had this coupled with the T1R intake. Opens up more top end power felt between 3.5K to 5K. Low end was now greatly sacrificed compared to what is felt with the stock headers due to the 4-1 design.

T1R Midpipe - Made sense of it all. Low end power is on par with the stock headers or better and the power delivery is very direct and smooth. From the second you give it gas to redline you have power, but it's amplified two fold after 3.5K. One disappointment I've always felt with my previous exhaust set-up and stock was that I would reach the max power output around 5K. 5K to redline power was just the same. But now 5K to redline is the strongest pull you feel throughout and it feels like it can just keep on pulling before the car shifts to the next highest gear.

Keep in mind I'm still running the stock axle-back muffler, but I'm very pleased with the T1R I/H/E combo so far.

Great write up man!

Would u be able to make a couple of videos on the exhaust note at idle & regular driving with your current exhaust setup?

I always wonder how it would sound like with header, mid-pipe & stock muffler.....

My current setup also includes the T1R Intake, but here are my comments:

Inside cabin - Start up is quiet and my idle is super smooth (cold morning start up). At cruising speeds, 45 mph ~ 55 mph, the exhaust is still quiet as idle; minus the road noise. At WOT the intake decides it wants to be heard. With the header and midpipe combo the intake is very deep and "growls" at shifting points 4k and up.

Exhaust @ muffler - Idle has a slight rumble / less sputtery sound compared to stock (which is a little more of a sputter / choking sound), but not like an aftermarket exhaust rumble. A friend commented my car was very quiet as I rolled up to him in the neighborhood. Wish I had a GoPro I could mount onto my rear bumper so you can hear the exhaust at regular driving.

If I get a chance I'll post up videos with sound bites.

Thanks! That'll be much appreicated. IMO aftermarket sport muffler like mugen/sport/FGK/T1R or stock muffler gives the best pulls & reponse on the GD/GE on everyday street driving.

I agree, I've tried a few mufflers but I like the stock one best for its response. Plus I like quiet.
