Let's talk numbers...test pipe

mmkk people...

what I am inquiring about is the gains of a test pipe..no not the butt dyno gains or the additional dB's that results from it that makes you think that you've gain power.I want dyno graphs peoples,I just put on a generic (modacar) midpipe to mate with my greddy axleback and it's pretty loud as is and i keep the silencer in there.I want to change to a test pipe(most likely aspec, because they have the only sane pricing for a 2ft piece of pipe)but i want to make sure that the annoying addition of sound is actually worth it.

Does such a thing exist?

i don't have a dynograph but the usual gain is between 3-5 whp

if you mind a much louder exhaust go for it.
since i have emissions laws in PA i would get in trouble for not running a cat.

i had one on my s2000 and i never had any regrets
and i plan on running one on the Fit (after inspection) lol.

IMO i think it's worth it, but be aware of the extra attention you will get.

its probably more like 2 or 3 whp. My car dynoed 100whp with header, testpipe, and catback... from a base of 92whp.

so full exhaust gains about 8HP, on a MT.
man..it'd probably one be like 5-7HP on an AT then...wonder if its worth it

I think I gained about 100whp from my test pipe.
Then I sold it to Josh and installed the worlds worse header. The WR Raceheader.

Sam just made that mistake too. He called me saying it hits on everything.
Welcome to my world Sam. :-/

From the looks of it more and more people are having trouble with weapon r products. There were alot of issues with the intake manifold and weapon r fixed it but they won't fix your old one unless you pay to ship it to them. Most companies would eat the cost of shipping up and give you the curtesy of fixing your product for free considering you bought it from them supposedly with no problems.

Glad I decided to hold on and not get the weapon r header.

It really is a piece of crap. I enjoy the gains but I hate everything else.
Sam told me he had to get his header re-drilled. The damn holes didnt even line up.

Mine hits against the steering rack, leaks, and my heatshields rattle sometimes because it hits against them too.
Also, I basically have to use circulation at all times when using my A/C so I dont smell exhaust.

I was thinking header is about ~3-7hp, midpipe and muffler are about ~5-10hp, test pipe is about ~3-5 hp, so a full exhaust would be ~11-22hp, depending on the exhaust and your car.

then an intake is ~3-5hp, so your 90hp fit with full exhaust and intake would be around 110-115hp, then with the weapon r intake manifold you're looking at 115-123, then with the t1r pully you're looking at 117-126whp on a n/a fit!

not too shab ;-D

then with a 50 shot... :-D

I have a header, testpipe, and b-pipe with intake and just a pipe instead of an axle back, but I would say the gains total about 10whp. Just like what people above have posted, I would say 2 or 3 whp.

If you search under straight pipe, I have a vid of the sound with an exhaust and testpipe. Its loud.

Highest Ive seen on a N/A Fit is 107whp. Intake, header, test pipe, exhaust, and an underdrive.

Back then the WR intake mani wasnt out. And due to my header issues Id stay away from the WR intake mani.

What exhaust do you have? With my testpipe my Twinloop sounded great. I didnt have the header then. With my race header it actually got a little lower.

On my TL-S muffler its buzzy. It doesnt really bother me as its a low buzz.

there's 120+ hp

juanpo's YouTube - juanpo honda fit dyno, track, puerto rico 110 whp, 104 tq
intake, header, cat back, 110 hp.

no test pipe at the time, no weaponr intake manifold, no pulley

test pipe for 3 hp, intake manifold for 8, pulley for 2

that's 123 hp, boys!

Every car is different, as are dynos. Ive seen modded Fits dyno 100whp.... and thats all the mods you listed above. Then Ive seen some dyno 107, 105, 103whp.

Some completely stock put down 98whp.

And I dont think WR's header puts down 15whp. If it does I think my car would feel a lot faster.
My Fit is pretty damn peppy though.

That Fit vid you linked, he does have a test pipe. He has custom header-back piping.

he didn't have the test pipe when he made the video and got the dyno, I asked him

and i'm pretty sure my car puts down about 150hp stock...!

I don't think there is going to be a fit that has over 110 whp without some forced induction or custom work done. I think the whole claims these companies make are a load of bs because if you were to take some of the totals together that some of them project you would be able to have a fit with no forced induction just i/h/e with 140-150 and that obviously isn't the case.

I think weapon*r claims 15 hp on their intake mani another 10 for their header I think they claim 5-7 for their intake so that is 30-32 hp just from that i don't think so.

you know tho if I slap on a AEM decal on my car I can gain 20 hp just from the aerodynamic increased from it.

I think the whole 2-3 hp increase is more likely for any of the bolt ons like i/h/e.
