Comptech & J's Racing Intake

I just wanted to let everyone that I emailed Comptech and J's racing and they are both going to have parts for the fit.
J's Racing said that i'ts intake was under develpoment and they should have it by may or june.
Comptech said they are going to have parts and they are still under development. http://www.comptechusa.com/store/new.html that is the address that states it is TBA.
I like the fact that good comanies are going to make parts for the Fit.:D

J's racing already has more then a handful of parts available for the Japanese Fit but none are confirmed yet for the US Fit if itwill work or not. They dont have any sort of intakes for the Fit even in the Japanese market but T1R is coming out with a intake for the Fit shortly. You can take a look at the pics of it in the AJ_Racing category. Because of the layout of the L15A motor, I think a CAI wont be possible so any intakes made for this motor will be a short ram type intake. It will be interesting though to see what Comptech comes up with.

Talk to Ben at AJ Racing about the T1R Intake. It is the same as the one used on the J's Racing Fit

It's also the same intake as the one sold by Honda Veni ;)

Ben Leung is the one that e-amiled me when I e-mailed J's. I am guessing he is the Ben you are talking about. If they are the same that's cool. I have seen a picture then. I just did not know they were the same.
I wish I could see a dyno of that intake. When I get my fit and put mods on I don't want to loose low end torque.
Do any of you know if AEM or Injen is going to make anything for the fit?

On my '95 Civic EX, I took an autozone shorty and plumbed up some nice aircraft 3" "hose" with clamps and slapped a filter on the end and stuck it in the front bumper area. I'm sure you could get a filter closer somewhere, although I noticed that the front end of the fit is short short. YOu could be right. Maybe someone can hook up the front grille to bring in some "ramair" a la 02-05 WRX.

TODA Australia has developed a propper cold air intake setup placing the filter in the inner guard (behind where the fog light would be)...and its not a short-ram system either!

We were getting about 4-5kw gains at the wheels with the intake fitted.

I think one of the major issues to overcome is the USDM Fit has a Drive By Wire throttle body which apparently extends much further and any attempts to make a performance oriented intake fit would cause it to interfere with the battery.

I'm certain there's a manufacturer out there working on a USDM specific performance intake - and perhaps others that will offer "stages" with the most extreme requiring the DBW system to be reverted back to cable actuation and or relocating/using a smaller battery.

Noone is going to replace their TB, ECU, pedal assembly, possibly the guage cluster and any number of other connected things just for a filter on a pipe that will add 2 or 3 hp at the most.

Do we know a time frame for the AEM/ J's/ Comptech intakes? Outside of a few websites I have heard nothing of any of them...I would really like an intake for my Fit!
