Afr?

Is a 13.8 AFR good or ok or ?
I have headers,cat delete, catback,CAI,weapon-r intake manifold,crank pulley.BTW i just installed AEM wideband.

Mr_ET 02-24-2009 05:43 PM

it's not bad but at WOT it should be closer to 13.0

im the fit 02-24-2009 08:31 PM

Any NA AFR's to compare?

Raaaaaaaaaay. 02-24-2009 08:34 PM

Its too lean IMO. Hopefully youre running 93oct to save yourself from detonation.
You need a tune.

for a quick fit could i change plugs or use smaller gap plugs?

im the fit 02-25-2009 01:02 AM

i agree that he should be running 93 octane, but i believe proper afr at idle for the L15 is between 14.7 and 15.3. close to 13.0-13.5 at wot.

where did you install the o2 sensor on your test pipe?

im the fit 02-25-2009 01:13 AM

its about 16 or 17in and yes on the downpipe

kelsodeez 02-25-2009 01:29 AM

sorry, i meant is it at 10'clock or 2'oclock? because if it is at a bad angle, the o2 sensor will go bad very quickly and read extremely rich before they die.

also, sometimes if my fit idles for a long time, it will show its idling around 13.

im the fit 02-25-2009 01:32 AM

at 2'oclock

kelsodeez 02-25-2009 01:35 AM

well, if it keeps idling at 13, take it to a tuner and have them put a sniffer to your exhaust to see how accurate your wideband is.also, did you ever install an o2 fix to your testpipe for your stock o2 sensor?
i wouldnt see this as an immediate problem, but if you keep idling rich, it could lead to more problems down the road.

im the fit 02-25-2009 01:40 AM

it idles at 15 flat its the WOT running lean that im having trouble with

kelsodeez 02-25-2009 01:42 AM

ahh dude, you are all good then. 13.0 for an na engine that hasnt had any timing change is all good.

im the fit 02-25-2009 01:45 AM

ive seen it go to 13.8 up to 14.1

kelsodeez 02-25-2009 01:48 AM

its fine dude, i had the same anxiety with my car when i put my wideband in. i thought it ran super lean but when i got my service manual, it set all my worries aside. our cars just run lean. its the nature of the beast.

im the fit 02-25-2009 01:49 AM

Thats at WOT

im the fit 02-25-2009 02:00 AM

could i put the afr sensor next to the 02 or at the same length as the 02

kylerwho 02-25-2009 02:01 AM

is your car throwing a CEL?

if the stock o2 sensors are forcing a code then the fit will throw itself into a preset open loop mode. its not quite limp mode though.

at least that is how i understand it to work but i could be wrong.

im the fit 02-25-2009 02:09 AM

no I actually never had a cel light come on,but I just want to know if 13.8 to 14.1 is lean rich or normal

quangalang 02-25-2009 03:19 AM

for NA fit, that's not lean...
