Just for the cam. I did once on my friends accord but ours are chain driven which might make things more difficult.

kylerwho 09-01-2009 02:09 AM

its not that hard. just get the motor to top dead center. pull off the intake manifold. pull the valve cover. pull off the cam caps. the chain will slide off but it will take some moving back and forth to get it off. put the new cam in. add the caps to make sure it sets in place. add the camshaft chain gear. (that will be the hardest part) install everything else. just make sure you follow the torque specs in a honda maual.

460 hmmmmm.

dewthedew 09-01-2009 11:03 AM

How much for the full head package?

artieman 09-01-2009 11:52 AM

460 for a cam and probably and another 200-300 for the springs and retianers...for probably 5-6whp if your lucky...changing out the cam is easy.... to properly degree in a cam is a whole different story...on some of the cars at the shop we lost power putting in cams untill we set center line...you need to degree the cam in.

Yep thats the problem i might have because we dont have adjustable cam gear or should i say sprocket lol

the fact that the cam even comes with a spec sheet like this tells me you must degree it in.
