Installed T1R Header and Test Pipe

I finished installation of my T1R header and test pipe the other day. But the header gasket was leaking so I swapped the header back out with the stock exhaust manifold temporarily until I get a new donut gasket that will fit.

Just thought I would show off a few pics.

Good stuff

I'm use to exhaust systems, headers etc on big ol domestics like the Mustang :)
I'll most likely keep my Fit exhaust stock but it's good to see what mods are available and how they perform.

I see the primary cat is deleted with the test pipe.Does the T1R header have larger primaries then the stock manifold?

Be sure to post up a sound clip when you get that gasket :)

The T1R primaries are approximately 1.5" in diameter and the collector inside diameter is approximately 1.83" (measured with smart phone lol). I am almost 100% sure the primaries on the T1R header are bigger than the stock exhaust manifold from a visual stand point. When I reinstall the header I will take measurements of the stock exhaust manifold primaries and let you know for sure.

As for videos, I will record two sound clips as soon as I can.

(1) Stock Exhaust Manifold + T1R Test Pipe + Skunk2 Cat-Back
(2) T1R Header + T1R Test Pipe + Skunk2 Cat-Back

I just have to find the right time to record them since I live in an apartment complex and have no driver's license. As loud as it is I might get a few complaints, but it will be totally worth it

I hear ya on not wanting to cause a ruckus with the neighbors lol
you don't need them calling the cops on you thats for sure.

I like the looks of the T1R header and agree the diameter looks pretty close to stock but the collector and overall apearence is superior.

The donut gasket came in the mail today so I fitted it up to the header and it is a perfect fit.

Therefore, I would recommend to anyone who purchases the T1R header used like I have done to purchase the the following gasket:

Vibrant Performance: #10532 (2.03" I.D. X 0.55")

It doesn't look like it's seated flush?

It seats flush on the inner lip of the second picture and the outer lip secures it in place. The last one I tried to use that didn't have that stepped lip broke as soon as I tried to tighten it because of the two welds at the bottom collector.

Or measurements?

Id love to see a stepped, 4-2-1 header for one of these. I bet it would pull the torque WAY up..

I honestly thing this would be a better design for the older model Fits. Anything to put more emphasis on torque than horsepower. Maybe it's my old school thinking but since its SOHC, I always focused on low and midrange torque with those engine types.

The Nascar guys use them over the old long tubes, they are still turning > 9K so it doesn't seem to hurt the upper end much :D
