L13A i-DSI swap for L13A i-VTEC?

Hello everyone.

I'm not entirely sure if this is the right place to post this, but it seems that way. I got to this forum through Google, as I was searching google to see if anyone on the planet had ever swapped an i-DSI engine for a i-Vtec one.

Here's the background story. I own an '04 Honda Jazz (It's called Fit here in Brazil) and long story short it went into hydrolock. Full on hydrolock. Like, block shattering hydrolock. The fact is that I've had the car lying around for a year now while searching for a similar i-DSI engine to buy, but apparently no one here has one (boy have I searched every single junkyard here...)

And so I found this engine that I believe is a L13A i-VTEC engine, I say I believe, since it is sold here as a 1.4 16V i-VTEC, I take it that they rounded the 1339cc to 1.4 for some reason, and figured that maybe it would be a good option.

What would be the best way to go about this?

Could I simply use my i-DSI head on an i-VTEC block? That way I could avoid dealing with the whole electronics side of the swap and the swapping process would be related just to the engine block.

Are the engines physically similar? I mean, are the engine mounts located at the same place in both engines? From what I saw on the internet, they are, but I need to know for sure.

From what I saw on wikipedia, they are very similar in displacement and bore. With the compression being a bit lower on the i-VTEC.

It must be said that finding engines here in Brazil is hard. And finding a good mechanic to work on this kind of swap is also hard. Plus I'm a total noob to has never done an engine swap. However this is the only car I have and I really can't stand seeing it rot as days go by. And no, I can't simply let it go and buy another one, since cars are very expensive here in Brazil and my pockets aren't that deep.

Oh Honda gods, please help a peasant in need. lol

They used to do this on the old D Series. but for the L, i havent come across any story in the web who has done this.

you are better off swapping the whole motor rather than doing a frankie I-DSI head + L13A IVTEC Block.if you are going through to swap route then drop an L15 on that GD.
