Swapping a L15B1 into my 2008 GD3

I have a 2008 with an L15A1 and I am looking at putting an L15B1 from the 3rd Gen. model in to get more power and give me more options for further mods. I'm justing wondering how easy it is and if anyone has any advice.

I was just hoping to find out if you ever did this, I'm interested in doing the same since an L15B1 is cheap and a decent jump in HP.

they might be similar but they're not the same. The type R turbo is a L15, but beyond that nothing bolts directly at all.

Close... the Si and various Sport turbo models use variations of the L15 (L15b7) which are non-VTEC motors, whereas the current FK8 Civic Type R is running the K20c1 motor, which is a VTEC-equipped engine. The Si's L15b7 has a few differences in the turbo setup which allow it to make a bit more power vs. the Civic Sport variant, as well as using a vastly superior transmission.
