Heated Mirrors

Hey, i was just wondering if you guys know anyone that offers heated exterior mirrors.

spoonek4 12-09-2007 06:22 PM

Bump. Anyone knows anything about this?

Would be really nice to have heated side mirrors on the Fit.......

Heated mirrors?

Well...I guess I found what I was looking for. The other day I found my Fit with frost all over it. I thought about heated mirrors so here I am today asking the same question as well. The solution that I came up with was doing a parts search and see what I can come up with.

This is what I found out between the Honda Fit and the 2007 Acura RDX:

Part number:
HONDA: HONDA FIT 2008 SPORT AT
DRIVER: 76250-SLN-A01ZE
PASSENGER: 76200-SLN-A01ZE

ACURA: ACURA 2007 RDX
PASSENGER: 76200-STK-A01ZE
DRIVER: 76250-STK-A01ZE

As you can see the only difference is the STK and SLN just to differentiate what is what. The complete kit assembly has heated mirrors plus it has the side markers in it already. I think of it as an added safety feature which ‘til this day I question why Honda did not throw these mirrors as a an extra safety feature.

:D

Time to start searching the junkyards for fitment!

wow, i will check out my coworker's rdx and see if they are the same mirror.

Mugen_Dom 01-03-2008 09:55 AM

I have an RDX parked next to me in my underground car park.

I'll take some pics and post them up later today.

looks too big to me. but, IF they are the same size, can we just by the heated element? painting the mirror with or without removing the turn signal may be TOO costly. (for some)

EXWRX 01-03-2008 07:29 PM

Looks mostly similar, but the lines on the RDX mirror look a bit different and the angle on the strut that holds the mirror head looks different as well. It still might work, but I'm just not sure

Got me all interested. I didnt like the frost on my mirrors.

r.c.y.k. 01-03-2008 09:55 PM

checked out my coworker's, the rdx's side mirror is bigger than ours, but seems like it got the same base,, but not sure...

rreyes99 01-03-2008 10:22 PM

Thanks for those pics. by looking at the pics, I would say that the mirror itself is different which contains the heating element. I agree, the base looks the same and may just fit. Anyone else have any other suggestions?

r.c.y.k. 01-24-2008 09:59 PM

anyone know if the 4 door civic has heated side mirror?? i just realize that the 4dr civic has similar mirrors as well.

the Acura CSX in Canada looks the same too. Plus it has signal light on it.

gar1013 01-24-2008 10:25 PM

Having owned a car with heated mirrors, the mirror does indeed contain the heating element. There would be an electrical connection inside the housing, and a switch inside the car.

Without the switch, OR if you leave them on all the time, the heating element will burn out.

MicroBioFit 01-25-2008 03:07 PM

It sure wouldn't be a simple swap, but it wouldn't be too hard to wire in a switch if you have a space on the dash, or don't mind making one (I would fuse it separately, too). The turn signal would be a little trickier, I think, if you wanted it, but doable. I agree with EXWRX that the big deal is whether the mirror points pretty much in the same way, and can be adjusted properly. Also, is the wiring for the mirror adjust the same, or would it require an adapter, if it's possible to adapt....

Mugen_Dom 01-25-2008 04:10 PM

You could just wire it up to the rear defroster if you didn't want to install a new switch.

that's what i thought too... shouldn't it work?

solbrothers 01-25-2008 06:40 PM

wow! that'd be awesome if the rdx mirror fit on teh fit. you'd get heated mirrors and mirror-mounted signal lights at the same time!

That's how they work in the 8th gen civics. The one button turns on the mirrors and rear at the same time.
