J's Grille
I picked up a used J's Grille and I was wondering what you guys did to install it? Do I have to take the bumper off? Did you drill holes or use double sided tap?
yes you need to take the bumper off to take the oem grill out. Then i cut the center section of the bumper(some just paint it black) I used 3m tape on the bottom and 4 rivets on the top to attach it to the bumper.
I was just looking at it and it looks like I could take of the 4 fasteners on the top of the bumper then get my arm in and behind the grille to get it out, is it just those 2 screws holding it in? Also where can I find that 3M tape?
home depot for 3m tape.
Did any of you guys mount the grille with only tape? I dont realy want to drill holes in my bumper but im a little unsure how well it will hold with just the 3M tape.
I had some trouble with it fighting right cause when they put on the tabs to hold the mesh they left way too much resin. I used a dremmel and slowly grinded it down till it fit nicely.
I didnt take my bumper off to remove my grill.
4 screws on the top (under hood) and double sideded tape. I mounted mine with the tape first, made it as flush as I could.... then put the screws in. |

The screws that you use are just self taping screws right?
I would think they would be

yep I got it all figured out to day. I go the stock grille out with out taking off the bumper. I just removed the four clips on top then reached my hand under with a small screw driver to get the two screws. It was a bit of a pain in the ass but I got it.

They were simple pointed screws. They didnt have the the cut on the tip like some screws have.
