J's Racing LED Honda emblem

I haven't checked j's racing in awhile, but pulled it up tonight and saw their LED emblem. It's not really my style, and it's more "showy" than I'm likely to put on my own car, but I have to admit that it's pretty cool. :)

I'm a little suprised I haven't seen this on anyone's car yet. Is it that new?

Those are new items that came out recently. For some strange reason I really want one. Only thing stopping me is the price.

Yeah, $240 is a bit extreme. They'd be too expensive (but buyable) at half the price. Also, I wish they'd throw up a PDF of the installation instructions.

After looking at the pics of the emblems on actual cars (I didn't notice them earlier), they actually may be more subtle than I originally thought.

I'm thinking the same with the price. If it was in the hundred and change range then it might be doable. I'm thinking it set that high since J's know they won't sell that many and that's the only way for them to make a profit.
From what I've seen it look like a 2 wires set up so power and ground. Maybe tie to the tail lights so they come on with them. Could always add a switch to turn it on/off when you want to.

Looking at them on the car, they arent as impressive as by themself, has anyone thought of doing something similar but diy? Imagine a thin sheet of translucent plexi between the emblem and the grill on the ge8? there is space to put LED's inside the crevices and it can be wired up to switch on whenever and the LED's would be protected from moisture and the elements because they will be in the grill.

I hope im not being confusing but it would be interesting. and wayyyy cheaper, prob like a 20 buck DIY maybe more because its impossible to remove those front emblems without breaking the tabs so you'd have to get a new one.

1/4" plexi glass and 4 LED's trace out the "H" logo on the plex cut it out on a band saw sand & polish sides, drill 3/16 holes for LED's behind the H, drill and thread the back of the plex w/ 1/8" studs, 2x side tape the H to the plex and wire into the parking lights. less than 10.00.
Thats all the J's overpriced logo is that and an etched logo to advertise J's. 230 dollars that's why you haven't seen one, holy cow what a profit!
