Agreed. The V1 will SHIT on any of those crappy radars on a bad day.
NICE! I LOVE my V1 to death and its saved my ass plenty of times since acquiring it in Fall of 2013. It needs to have the update to ignore these modern radar options (Blind Spot Detection, Radar Cruise, Back Up sensors, etc.) as well since it goes INSANE when I'm within a mile of my uncle's Porsche Mecan or an 18 wheeler with an electronic log book or tracking device.
About how long was the turn around if you don't mind me asking? I want to send mine in but don't quite have the funds for the upgrade fee and shipping yet.
took a couple hundred mile road trip this week with my new V1. i sent two units in for updates last month and finally got about 10+hrs using it in the real world. The new 't' feature which ignores modern day car's lane change warning, proximity radars is very good!
can't wait to install it on my hobby cars in 8-9 more weeks.

Just a quick update on how my wife's GK is doing since purchase last August.
- the driver door window is still working properly after the 2nd time fix.
- everything else appears to be working properly, no issues with TPMS coming on.
- voice recognition, per wife, works great IF THE HVAC FAN IS ON LOW OR OFF during use.
- i checked the engine bay yesterday, salt and crap gets inside just as bad as my GE.
will wash come Spring.
- besides this, all 4 doors imho are kind of stiff at the hinges compared to my GE. i may need to grease them after the Spring full wash.
- wife noted she heard a crack when she accidentally pushed down on the gate (hatch) trim to close. i bet the thing broke. i read posts by others that the trim piece is a POS.. and never to close the gate using nothing other than the handle in the jam.
other then that, seems to be working fine. i dont look closely at the GK as it makes me sick (due to subpar parting lines, etc) but for the normal folk im sure it looks good.

couple more weeks till the end of my GE ownership. meaning, the rodent didnt see his shadow last week so spring is near. lol if MT, i will get the new WRX or STI, probably the STI as it just looks nicer inside and cheaper at the end for me. if AT, im going to get a new IS350 F-sport AWD.
it depends on how my left ankle does.. been having on and off pain since late last Summer while clutching. reason why i put my hobby cars away for hibernation kinda early last year..

as for GE parts, i have like the avh2500bt headunit with factory bezel, oem leather knob, and the tanabe axleback. too lazy to remove the swifts... especially because id need to get it re-aligned afterwards. hahaha
im going to buy the new car outright and then later sell the GE to carmax. so its no rush to take it apart actually. i just dont have a place to park it..

i got a new STI today so will be selling my '12 GE in the next week or two. the STI comes with summer tires so will drive my GE till I know for certain there is no more heavy snow.
i will still hang around here as i will still work on my wife's '16 GK, mainly for maintenance.

Thanx. I got the silver base STI with the nav and Harmon stereo.
As soon as the salt is washed away I'm pulling my other cars out of hibernation.
The STI is my beater.

btw, my sales guy cracked up while i tested the power widows on the STI before purchase. i was telling him about my wife's GK how the glass almost fell out of the window frame. he was like wow which car was this? and i pointed to my wife's GK parked right next to the car. he couldn't believe it either. hahaha
thanks to mexican hondas, i started checking the power windows on all new car purchases...
