alright, got gas in my GTI on the way home. did my usual quick walkaround while pumping gas and found 2 small bird crap spots that looked like it was etching the paint.

got home, cleaned it off and its over the clearbra so no issue. although it did leave a smear on the clearbra. UV will eventually fix it, i thinks.

so i'm trying a different drive setting (programmable on my GTI) since the weekend and it is starting to feel real good. it feels more like my R with the weighed steering feel. i was never a big fan of electronic steering but i'm starting to like it.. it doesn't have the feedback of hydraulic pump steering but in a good way. makes it easier to drive.

looking forward to the drive to work in my GTI this am.

Naps are for old men Ken.

So your GTI has modes. Mine does too, while you push a button to call up the mode I use my right foot to call up mine. Truth be told the only mode mine has is S that changes the shift map on the DSG.

mike- we need a 7 day weekend. haha

alright, new contisport p5 tire is on order in anticipation for both the wheel and tire arriving before the weekend. damn, if i wouldve known i could get this replacement wheel so soon, i wouldve just kept my summers on a tad longer. lol

will get the tire mounted probably on saturday. perfect. done and i can forget about it.

So after a productive day at work I think I've decided to get a Ktuner for the Civic in the future. =)

Remember how I was considering a friends GTI a few months back? Sucks but some A-hole did an illegal U-turn and hit his car. $4600 worth of damage =/ He's doing fine...car looks like it could be better.

is the ktuner like accessport? (reflash via obd2)

damn, sorry to hear about your buddy's GTI. time to get a Golf-R.
a few of my buddies at work are SERIOUSLY considering getting R's after seeing mine.

.. so i guess ktuner is like AP. how much power will u be able to net from the reflash?
or is this more like my STI's reflash to give the ecu a smoother and healthier AFR and a bump in torque?

Agreed.

A little envious of spare wheels & such. With what you've spent on this I could have a full set of spare wheels for the S2000

Eek. Glad he's okay.

KTuner sounds fun.

I'm burnt out on car stuff, just want to make house look nice, but gosh, cars are so much less expensive to play with.

mike - yah, honestly i rather be spending this $900+ on something else, but oh well.. crap happens.

and besides the tint i might still do on the R, i dont have anything else planned for the R or my STI. im real happy how both cars drive, sounds, feels, etc. so that leaves me with the extra budget to take care of these ooops and maintenance stuff.

errrr S04's weren't gripping well at all this am on my GTI when i needed to quickly accelerate.. 49F this am, i need to swap to my winters (DWS06) on this car too soon.. this is what i hate about powerful FWD and RWD cars in the am.. not enough grip. AWD FTW
