finally home! cheezeburger and chili tonight.

got gas on the way home in my GTI. so many stupid idiots out on the road today.. but there was one smart brz driver not being an arse and politely letting me in the lane when i signaled. no sense trying to out gun my modded GTI cause he will only hate his car more.

after supper going to relax and enjoy watching a couple of TV shows online.. while having icecream.

happy friday everyone!

wow already in the teen f's this am. glad i swapped the GK's wheels to snows last week despite the pain. psi wise my GTI will be on the low side going by calculation but still within driveable psi. i'm sure i will see a lot of clueless motorists with flat tires this am. lol

Went ice skating last night.

Fell right on my tail bone. Pain is getting worse by the hour.

I need to skate more so I can stop being terrible at it.

Me to me right now:

Awww man Mike410b hope you feel better.

Sorry but I had to...

I washed the Elantra and Civic today...tried the 2 bucket method. Totally makes sense...but still prefer my waterless wash method. Less work, great results. Only did traditional wash since I was out of waterless product.

Wanted to play with my new DA polisher and do a full detail on them both but started too late in the morning and the sun was on the driveway side when I finished washing.

Sure the Meguiars Ultimate line of stuff says I can do it in the sun... but considering this is the first time using a machine I wanted to take my time and being in the sun didnt seem ideal.

SO maybe I'll get up earlier tomorrow and at least do the civic. The elantra is getting used and driven today so dont really want to wash it again. Today is sunny so its a Miata day.

Happy Friday everyone!

ooooo~ sorry to hear mike! sounds like i need some ice.

today im limping around with maybe a stapler up my arse. quite an improvement from earlier in the week.. i can almost pretend i don't have a limp.

by tomorrow i expect to be out there motoring my STI. woot!

shinjari- yah 2 bucket is cool but i only use single bucket. as long as there is plenty of lubricity and shaking out the grit from the wash mitt during each dip,i don't get much swirls. 1.5 yrs with no polishing my ride, still minimal swirls.
i too agree waterless is quite good.

I wish I went down that gracefully! My first fall was terrible, my second fall was smooth. Zero pain from fall #2, tailbone already feeling better.

No more ice for this tailbone haha.

Have you considered taking the stapler out? Could help.

haha. by the end of the day i almost looked like i had nothing stuck up my arse while walking.

stopped by my drycleaner on my way home from the work. the drive back was fun, traffic was just right.. a few dumbarse acura sedan drivers in the wrong lane going slow, but as soon as it cleared up it was a blast. i dont know why people even buy the TL, TLX, and ILX.. so fugly and slow. RDX/MDX i can understand.. not a bad looking suv.

tomorrow going to pull out my STI in da am, then going to take my wife to lunch at our usual j-restaurant.

Sounds like everyone had a good day.

It got cloudy so I decided to detail the car after all! DA polisher worked great. Saved my arms from getting sore and applied a nice even coat. Can't wait to do the GFs car (hers is black) and needs some correction done. Thats where this polisher will hopefully "Shine". *pun intended*

Clay, polish and wax. Sure is hard to tell where you've waxed on a white car...when your wax is also white...lol

Ramen sounds good. May have to get that tonight for dinner.

My father in-law bought a 2008 TSX when he retired. That car is great! Has over 200k on it now and is still a nice driving/good looking car. He's been waiting for Acura to bring out something he wanted to buy since about 2015.

I think he's going to give up and buy a TLX, but he's not overly thrilled about making the purchase. He will only buy a sedan (wife has the SUV) and gets substantial discounts on Honda/Acura products, so the TLX purchase makes sense for him.

He likes Audi's (says they are the industry benchmark for paint quality), but I don't think he'll betray his background.

Looks GREAT shinjari! I love that they did the black in smooth shiny material. Hate trying to wax around the black plastic trim.

I washed my Lincoln tonight. Poor thing has been on two out of state road trips since it's last bath. Was looking rough. Especially the polished aluminum wheels with the semi-metallic pads I run.

motored the STI this am.. had a blast. got home, dusted off the GTI's interior, added some dot4 and coolant.
im happy that the brake fluid didnt drop further since early Spring. not sure wat that was..

going to QD the STI tomorrow since im planning to take it out for another spin. if temps are above 34F will wash the GTI.

as for my back, im like 95% cured. nothing stuck up my arse walking style today. lol

ran a quick errand this pm in my GTI.. most of the time the car is fine but dang 2wd sucks when it comes to putting power down from slow speeds with high torque..

GTI is definitely the last car with non-awd for me. no more fwd, no more rwd cars. wheel spin is stupid, traction control is even more stupid.

Well if cars eventually go electric only...hopefully they will all be awd like the teslas and mission-e porsche.

Glad you're feeling better.

My next daily will probably be electric. I'd 100% have bought an i3 a few months back if it had a 200 mile range.

Awww dont want/like that Chevy "Bolt"? It gets 200+.

I'd be fine with 200...300+ would be ideal though. The infrastructure needs to be netter with more "supercharging" stations. I mean the tesla gets a 50% charge in 30 minutes. Porsche is claiming their system will charge 80% in 15 minutes which is ~250 mile range.

I like the Bolt a lot!

But....a CPO i3 is 20k with 15k miles. A new Bolt is 30k+

I'm not spending 30k+ unless I'm buying a CTR or an S3.

Both valid points. $30k is CTR territory haha.
