nice ash! i need to wash my GTI too tomorrow can’t wait to put my summers on the car..!

had a fun commute this am vs (with) an modded evo. we weren’t racing or anything and gave each other space. i know wat an evo can do and he probably knew wat a GTI can do so respected each other.

A little too soon for summer tires Ken. ;-)

I just got back from running my wife's MINI through the touch-less wash. It got the salt & most of the mud off, but to my eye it is still dirty. I'll have to give it the complete spa treatment when spring finally gets here. Until then it's as good as it gets.

is there such thing as a mirage hatchback? cause i think thats wat i saw this am with donut-like skinny tires on all 4.. and the driver was driving like a maniac doing like 65mph on those tires. i thought the thing was going to break apart and crash into a ditch. should be illegal to sell such crap in the USA.

They do exist. Don't worry though. With their 78hp, it was probably at terminal velocity for both the vehicle and it's occupants.

alright on the menu today.. need to get my hair cut this am at my usual hair stylist.. much to talk about since i was over at the detroit autoshow and he's also into cars. he's been eyeing the refreshed golf-r himself. the new bumpers on both the GTI and R i likes. they look so much better in person.

followed by washing my GTI. was thinking about taking out my STI this am but the faking village yet again GRAVELED the street in front of my house with salt. wtf.. it's like 40F and no snow in sight. so faking stupid these people.. need to give them the roach trap aka mitsubishi mirages and let darwin take care of the rest. haha

have a good saturday everyone!

got my hair cut, washed my GTI.

i need to polish the GTI's paint this spring fosho.. starting to show some minor hazing and swirls after 2yrs. besides this everything looks good, no new chips or dings or scratches to report.

the new parking structure at work has been great and the slow puttputt commute has been good to the paint as well.

I just wanted to check in after several weeks of absence and let you all know I will not be on as frequently to chit chat about Fit topics. I just upgraded to a manual Toyota 86 and will be parting with my Fit. However I still expect I will be by once in a while to answer questions or help individuals with their Fits. It doesn't make a lot of sense for me to remain as active when I no longer own the car. よろしく!

on the menu today, i’ve decided im going to pull out my STI in about an hour since i can clean the car after the drive as it will be above freezing. it’s been like over a month since i last drove the car so should be fun.

after that i need to do some laundry and then relax rest of the pm listening to tunes and streaming some TV shows.

have a good sunday everyone!

Long end of the week last week. Had to take my dad to the hospital thursday at midnight. His heart was racing for several hours so he called me to take him in. He ended up needing (3) stents and suffered an extremely mild heart attack. 36 hours after going to ER he's back home. It's crazy.

Gonna be in the 80s today and tomorrow....weird.

As for prints Mike410b, they will be put in frames and hung. Hope you get better and hope you got your care package I sent ya lol.

Debating on washing the Civic today, washed the Miata yesterday.

Also removed and replaced the alternator in the Elantra. 215k miles and the rectifier went out. Battery light came on, removed it, took to vatozone and they tested it...fail.
Took less than 2 hours to diagnose, test, remove and replace.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

alright, motored my STI, had a great time. saw a few STI's roaming the streets today, perfect day for it, lightly damp roads, just above freezing. i got home before the roads were completely dry which was my plan.. the salt dust is excessive in my area due to the salt trucks going all crazy with the amount of salt they put down.. the dampness keeps the salt dust tame.

i didnt have to use my waterless wash, just ample SpeedShine and walla. cleaned up the wheels and dressed the tires. got fuel on the way home too, so a nice constructive drive.
