The pen type makes a fine emergency air gauge. I need to dig one up & stash with my other road trip stuff.

Ken what USB cig lighter charger do you use?

so people ask me why i use them cause most rentals these days have a USB out... well if youve ever tried the usb out on random cars, some will mute the audio from your iphone which makes it kinda difficult to navigate while in a new town uve never been in. lol

so i always power my iphones using those cigarette lighter chargers. i have other more important things to think about than fiddling around with a stupid charger..!

alright, checked the GTI's psi with my usual digital gauge and all were good. adjusted to the right psi and also verified that the GK's psi is also good.

smooth start for a rough day.

have a good wednesday everyone!

It is snowing.

That means it is not summer.

That means I'm not driving this.

I hate winter.

It's called Hot chocolate. That MINI is my wife's pride & joy. I like it too, but she loves it.

after driving all sorts of normal folk cars including the GK, i am so glad i have a DSG GTI. its another normal folk car, but it is just a HUGE step above normal AT cars. full AT mode is fantastic once you learn how to drive it in traffic. i think until one can appreciate the GTI's full auto-mode, they are still in their learning curve or just too novice as a driver.

after returning my rental cars and getting back in my GTI, i feel so relieved. i have 2 more meetings this week and one is in snow area which is not going to be fun coming back.

Looked at my sleeping Miata this morning. The battery tender said the battery was done for. Off to O'Reilly's for a new battery. I figured it would cost me a bit since this 3 year battery gets a pro rated warranty. Nice surprise no more pro rated warranties, a new AGM battery for free. It's back in the Miata & on the battery tender, life is good. :-)

My weekend is starting out good. Hope you folks have a good one too.

Do you use that battery that O'Reilly's sells with the part number "MIATA"?

Yes I did Mike. Crazy easy part number. It's an AGM & a direct replacement. I also put an AGM in my GTI this fall, but that one came from Advanced Auto Parts.

drove near 300 miles today in blizzard conditions and in 9-14" accumulated snow. the jeep was okay as far as not getting stuck, but it has no dynamic awd with steering or anything. i cant say the thing was stable in the snow. and the windshield kept piling up snow to a point the wipers werent working and i had to get off the road to break the collected ice under the windshield and on the wiper blades. pos design, i tell ya.

dropped off the rental and took a cab home. was tired as hell when i got home.. my son made me some hot cocoa and i took some tylenol for my headache and off i went to remove the snow off my GTI and GK. by the time i was done my headache was gone.

placed the newly acquired pen pressure gauges in my cars.

now time to relax.. wife and older kid is making us some spare ribs.

how much torque in lbs/ft will you get from the 320hp? GL with the mods
Figures from the manufacturer quote anywhere from 249hp and 29kg-m of torque with SC unit and flash up to 300+ with fuel plus flash upgrade and 32kg-m of torque. I don't know if new internals are required. Still looking around at options. For now, only minor upgrades are in the budget. I'm looking for some full smoke Valenti tail lamps to replace the OEM which look decent, especially at night but the chrome is a turn off. It's tolerable at least as it contrasts with the black body color.
