My problem with the WRX limited is price. Once you get the upgraded stereo (which is almost mandatory even for talk radio cause the base is THAT bad) you're into the price range of nicer cars.

Yeah I think the eibach sportline 103 rate for rears is a misprint. I've been eyeing the H&R's as well. $220 for the Eibachs and $230 for the H&Rs

Regarding the Fiats...I like them...but as mentioned they are not very reliable and they've been out for nearly 10 years now. We had one as a rental and it was cute and fun and stupid easy to park but I'm sure the small nonexistant space would get old and with the amount of driving the GF does for work it would just NOT make sense.

People the last two days have been driving like animals. I'm going to blame tourists and out of towners coming for Comic-Con.

drove my GTI dis am in da rain in full manual mode. AT was not as stupid as it was yesterday. mind u da GTI's AT is leagues ahead of wat GK's AT will ever be.. so u can tell how much i hate the GK's cvt.

regardless da car did not piss me enough to dump it dis am so dat is good (for da car). once it dries up today, or if it dries up today, will do da GK's oil change.

oil change completed on da GK. da hardware i gave da GK to replace its factory inferior hardware for da lower shroud held up very well. since it looked like it was going to rain i quickly did da change while my kid watched.

recycled da oil and did a little window shopping at the auto parts store.

now relaxing with a full stomach..

CVT = a rubber band. Of the very few I have driven the one in my son's GK is the best I've sampled. That being said it is still nothing more than a glorified rubber band.

My GTI's DSG is the best auto box I've driven. Makes me smile.

GAFIT Ford once owned a large chunk of Volvo. I'm guessing that is why Ford has some Volvo DNA underpinning some of the their cars. I believe the Volvo C30 was Escort based.

FCA has Benz DNA & a lot of Fiat DNA. Not sure if that effects the hell of a cat cars or not.

Focus based amigo.

Hellcat/Demon/Scatpack/Big Mac/etc., cars were on their own platform but with significant input from Daimler on the gen one, afaik the current Charger/Challenger/300 are FCA through & through.

no car action today, wet out side and too lazy to wash my R after da drive. not only da washing, but da drying is a pita cause da car is garaged during da week, i need to dry her by fans and dehumidifier and it literally takes over 8hrs to dry.. not to forget the water trapped inside da door which i cant get access to.. i suppose i could use da waterless wash but meh.. again too lazy.

if da roads dry up a bit later going to pull out my bicycle for a quick ride.

ordered a new cabin filter for da GK.. $20.. wat a huge waste of good money towards da pos, but not a waste for my wife's well being, so oh well. hopefully dis will the last filter and da last oil change on da car i did yesterday. i hate looking at da thing taking up precious parking space everyday.

so it looks like a buddy of mine's friend who works at a subie dealership can get me a special price on da WRX limited if i choose to go with either a gray or lapis blue which are both my favorite colors for dat shape so will think about it some more. its da one with keyless, nav, harmonk stereo, etc just like my STI and well under da marketed MSRP. should be fun.

wrx limited comes with adaptive LED headlights too.. which is a huge improvement over my STI's standard HID's from yesteryear.

da only thing stopping me is whether i want to swap shoes again while going to work as i did when i had my G coupe.. i dont like driving MT cars in my dress shoes as it ruins the heel of the shoe and also the floor mat. but considering i park in my work's parking structure dis is not a problem. plus i get to work waaaay early so no rush swapping shoes in da garage. hummmm..

Ken - If you are asking opinions the lapis blue looks much better. The grey just looks drab to my old eyes. So many grey & silver cars out there, says the silver bearded guy who drives a grey car. ;-)

Buy a Golf R, I think you'll be happier. :-)

haha, thanks ash. yah, the lapis blue is an amazing color in da sun.

i need to look past the DSG right now.. with my left ankle healed completely and been doing real well the last year, im ready to go back to just driving MT cars. and considering i already have a MT Golf-R, i wanted to get something cheaper where i would use it during da week to go to work, and my son can use it to learn MT and use it when im not.

i suppose dis brings back the discussion about the civic-si coupe as well. i donno, da frustration with the GK has really turned off my interests in hondas right now but from da reviews the current gen civics are da bomb. and dey are $10K cheaper dan the wrx limited with the features i want, comes with everything one would want in a starter car.. well except it's FWD.. may need to get get good snow tires but it wont cost $10K.. lol

i donno, ill be talking to my buddy's friend tomorrow to see wat kinda price i can get on the wrx limited and see.

Since we are on the topic of SI-coupes. I just met up with a guy on my civicx forum yesterday to get that SI RSB. He has the metallic neon green coupe. Love or hate color. I personally dig it.

His is all tricked out, d2 lowering springs, AG wheels, did the katzkin leather like I did, and hes currently doing some turbo mods as well. All I can say is it is one sweet looking ride.

I sat it in...and those SI seats put my seats to shame. Love the bolstering and comfort.

Only complaint is the whole honda infotainment thing...I dont like touchscreens. Just my preference.

If they made an SI hatch I would've been all over it. Coupe wont fly in this household, sedan is 'meh' to me.

So I ended up installing the SI RSB. According to maths...its should be about 60% stiffer. Was a quick swap...about 45 minutes in all. Haven't taken it out yet.

Agree with Ash, the blue is better.

I like that there are some interesting colors being used. Not sure that bright green is a color I could live with, but it is nice.

Shinjari let us know how you like the RSB. I think you'll like it. The one on my MINI & GTI really woke up the handling.

This is before he added the AG wheels.

I'll keep you guys posted. Now to figure out this spring situation. I found some D2 springs on the forum for $140...but thats a 2" drop...which may be a bit much for me as I'm trying NOT to have to do the angle driveway/speed bump dance.

Think I'm going with H&Rs I found new for $210 shipped/no tax.
