alright, got a few tempered screen protectors on order.. one for my little ipod touch6 and my iphone7. cause im lazy and clumsy at the same time..lessons learned

considering how often i take the phone out of my pocket while getting into my car to hook up to carplay, then risk dropping it again to put back into my pocket, i know im going to drop it again.. next time will be on concrete.

..and maybe even drive over it too.. lol

Ken I wouldn't update the 6 phone. From what I have read the phone doesn't have a chip-set fast or large enough to run the new IOS. Makes the phones lag. My wife & I have apple 5s & will not be updating to the new IOS. Never had these problems with those cool old flip phones. ;-)

Have a good work week folks. This retired guy is drinking coffee & waiting for a kid to step on the lawn.

alright, the drive home was pretty smooth.. traffic wasnt too bad.
soooo tired today. need to close my eyes and rest.

so a member linked some phillips bulbs in one of the GK shitty headlight thread and the thing is $28 shipped on amazon for a pair which imho is a good deal. considering they will probably only last 5-6months tops, id be buying 2 sets a year.. or $56. car's already 3rd year so 2 more yrs of ownership at most.

2018 $56 (2 sets)
2019 $56 (2 sets)
2020 $0 (sell car)
Total: $112

not bad. should give it a shot.

my biz trip to the eastcoast got postponed till after the new year, but since i was getting up real early to adjust my body to their time zone the last couple of days, i automatically woke up waaay early again. lol

so i went to move some snow stuff like bag of salt and shovel from the garage to the porch only to find my clogs were cracked at the very bottom of the shoe and leaking inside.. wtf mang.. ordered up a new pair. also did a few house chores.

should be getting the headlight bulbs for the GK tomorrow.. shall install soon. hope it dont burn out the wires. lol they are 55w per philips but higher lumens so it should be okay.

should even consider pulling out the DRL fuse.. anyone know which fuse it is on the GK?
such a pita..

my wife stopped by my music room so noted her about the new bulbs coming in for the GK. she was like cool.. then a second later different conversation. haha she dont care, she got that new pc of hers to play with.

the only thing she cares is i dont put in extra effort or $ into the car she's going to dd.

i could buy a pair of new bulbs at $28 every day for 2 yrs and still wont make up the $25K difference between keeping the GK and getting the CRV-touring/Lex NX right now. so a couple of pairs of bulbs till i trade in the car is nothing.

What laptop did she get? Been eyeing some low end "gaming" laptops for my kid. Seems I'm gonna end up spending about $800-1000 for something decent with a dedicated video card.

burrrrrrr it was 40°F this morning....Miata soft top doesnt protect much. Thank goodness the heater only has to fill a 2 seater haha.

My wife has an MSI laptop that she loves. What's nice is it's super slim and, once you remove the stickers and tone down the keyboard lighting, it looks like a slim business laptop. Even has suede on the bottom and a nice feeling keyboard.

Here's what she has...

Ahhh yeah I prefer desktop machines myself. The upgradability and what not is primo.

Issue I face with my kid is his mom and I are separated so having a desktop isn't ideal....unless I'm building a super compact mini-itx...which is still not very portable since he has to fly with it. It'd be like if he had to transport his ps4/xbox one every time he visited.

I'd prefer a desktop due to power/durability...but think Im stuck looking at laptops which makes it tough to stay under $1000 for something worthwhile. That MSI is fancy. Even more powerful than my current desktop...though just barely.

Looking at this Acer Predator Helios 300
Amazon Amazon

My friends that I use for tech advise have told me "no" to Acer. Never had one for direct knowledge though.

We were shopping for a $1000 laptop when we bought the MSI. We were trying to avoid red (gamer looking) laptops which made it hard. How about an HP Omen?

shinjari- my wife's profession is around computers so she has a bunch of laptops and desktops but this machine is her toy.

when we did a garage sale a couple of yrs ago she was selling used laptops for $2-5 each. yep, and they weren't some crappy pos either. it was older model ThinkPads, HP, etc. more to help the community to get more pc's to needy kids. sometimes her clients swap their entire pc line up and they just tell her to scrap the old computers for donations, etc

Thats generous of her. I have two towers worth of parts...that I honestly have no idea what to do with.

Yeah I just came across the Acer...I'm a Asus/Dell/Hp/Lenovo(IBM) guy.

alright, finally home partially enjoyed my drive home in the GTI. car wasn't the problem, just a whole bunch of stupid people bunched up on my commute home.

my car can use a good wash right now... all salted up and white.
luckily it's suppose to get a little warmer this weekend so maybe i can do a hose wash.
