Officially a Fitfreak member

I just purchased an 08 SSM Sport 5 speed yesterday and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. I have been looking to buy a car for myself for awhile now and was thinking of getting a used civic, specifically 99 or 00 ex. I wanted to get the Fit back in 07 but decided to wait and save more money. I test drove an 08 base fit (MR for you color fanatics) and absolutely loved the car. So I decided I would look for a good deal and a week later found a dealership (Diamond Bar Honda) that could match the price that I wanted. So yesterday me, my brother in law and and my sister made the trek from SD to LA to look at the car. Turns out that the Fit also had factory tint and a Lo Jack system installed. On top of that the Fit only had 15 miles on it and the seats were still wrapped in plastic! All together I paid a little less than 17,000! I am more than satisfied with the purchase and I am very excited about owning this car. I want to thank Fitfreak.net for all the good information that really helped me to buy this car. You guys are awesome! What are some things that I should do to make this car last like a Honda should? Specific products I should use? Thanks everyone.

Congrats!
Only thing you should do is the oilchanges and wash and wax it from time to time. It's a Honda - no problem to get 300K miles or more on it. I know people who have 400K miles on their Hondas and still driving

Nice buy. Did you get free floor mats? Haha. Lo jack and tint are nice options that you got already installed. To be honest all you need is gas and to change the oil but thats all on you. Some, to include me, only use synthetic oil and only top tier fuel but its not needed if you dont want to. Just personal opinions anyway. Good luck with the new car. Welcome to the Fit family!!!!

Yes by far the all weather mats are the way to go. Dont get them from the dealer tho cause they will rape you on the price, unless you can work a deal. Heres a link to the cheapest oe Honda gear you can get your hands on. Honda Fit Accessories - Genuine 2007-2008 Honda Fit Interior Accessories. College hills is the cheapest way to order anything from Honda. Good luck with everything.
