Hello...new to Hondas!

So I've been a Toyota kinda guy since I got my license, but I just got a brand new Fit and I like it!
I just wanted to say Hi and give my thanks in advanced for any help I may recieve from this forum in the future.

And I just wanted to say whats up to all of those in the Yay Area and the OC.
I haven't seen too many Fits around Fremont where my parents live, and I get a lot of stares and double takes driving on the road ever since I bought it. But in Irvine (where I go to school), there are many.

nice choice.
welcome to fitfreak.net

keep in mind that the L15 Fit motor is SOHC Vtec. There's a whole new world to discover when you experience the DOHC Vtec motors.

Since this is your first Honda, don't be discouraged from the amount of power it makes. This is a virgin Honda motor and may have a lot of potential down the road.

I know i felt sick when i started driving the Fit after i sold my S2000.

Ok enough blabbing, hit us up with any questions if you have any.

Thanks for the welcome! Yeah...I had a v6 camry xle (basically a lexus es) and now with the fit im missing luxuries, compartments, half my liters, and 80 hp...haha
But at least it doesn't drive like a 3500 lb boat.
I don't mind the loss in power really...it keeps me out of trouble. I should have had this car in HS when I drove like an idiot.
So far no questions...I just put in silverstar ultras in my headlights (I like them no matter what people say and my whole family has them), and switched over to synthetic.

I am curious what people thought of the oem "Dunflop". I have been playing with the pressures and am pretty satisfied with 48psi front 40psi rear. Max cold on tire says 51 so I feel i'm well in range, but will have to deflate if i load it up with more weight.

oh ok cool
yeah that's another reason i got the Fit, it keeps me out of trouble too.

when did you switch to synthetic?
i just switched at 10k, i was thinking that was the rule of thumb unless ur at 10k already...

most people scrap the oem dunlops they're sub-par tires and you can pick up some better ones on tirerack.com and have them shipped within a day or two and be much more satisfied.

and there's threads about tire pressure also.
a lot swear by the oem tire pressure sticker for 32 psi and others recommend over 40.
right now i'm running 38f 40r and have no problems but i'm running bf goodrich's

haha i was reading through all the threads. Basically it really does not matter when you switch...or maybe it does like 10 years 120K miles down the road, but thats for me to worry about later (i'll have a new car in 10 years im pretty darn sure).
I know a few members switched almost right away and thats basically what i did. No initial issues thats for sure.
I'm a college student and im already strapped for cash and wish to rely on my parents for the bare minium so i'll keep my oem dunflops till i wear them out. They're not as bad as some oem tires i've driven on b4. I can see with my high pressure i'll be wearing out the center more, but i always cancel that out with taking corners just a tad faster than a "normal" driver :-D
