Hey Scala,

love the thread!

Simple question; what is your shift boot off, I’m over the accordian rubber junk, haha.

Cheers!

Oh shoot this has been like 8 years, i purchased a leather shift boot with red stitching off ebay, Something similar to this:https://www.ebay.com/itm/FOR-1988-14...cAAOSwofxUlNH6

What i had to do was remove shift knob, then the center console, and last remove the screws that hold that silver piece that holds the shift boot. Removing the rubber boot is easy.

Not sure if needed for the boot i linked, Cut the faux leather boot similar to the 4 rubber tabs the rubber one had. slide it through the same holes. If i remember correctly i hot glued them to the silver disk. in the inside so you dont see it from the outside.

As for the shift knob, i had to put a zip tie inside under the Nut to hold the boot in place.

Hope all this helps, and if you need help PM me pictures ill see if i can help.

Seems like that’s the common approach, I’ll grab one of an eg6 or something similar and go for the mild modification approach. My short shifter and extender arrived but looks like I’ll throw that ugly rubber back over for the time being!

Many thanks!!
