Hi honda community! Thanks for being here. Would be thankful to hear from you with feedback if you have experience with this: I bought a 2010 honda fit In 2012, it only had like 32k on it and was like new. I think the previous owner must have to give it back to the dealership where I bought it. I bought a package of oil changes from the dealership and outside of oil and get to g new tires, I have not done anything else really. The car is now at 80 or 82 k and the dealership gave me a lengthy costly list of needs. I can't tell what is dangerous and what is optional. Their list includes break pads bc they state the pads are at .1 and should be .7. They want to charge me 750. I got a quote of 300 from another mechanic. Your thoughts? What should it really need at 80K that is a must bc it could be dangerous and damage the car? The dealership makes everything sound 911 And if I don't use them, another garage will screw the dark up more bc it's not a honda dealership garage.

Pads usually cost around $40 and take about an hour to change. If you're not comfortable learning to do that yourself, go to Yelp.com and type in Honda repair. You'll find local repair shops with reviews to choose from. Dealers will always take a little truth and try to scare you with it.

Change them yourself. My daughter did hers.

Autozone wants $37.00 for them (plus tax)
Rockauto prices start at $5.15 and up (plus shipping)

If you want to tackle them we will give you some ideas/help. I wonder if there is a utube video on the procedure. I could do them in 1 hour. You could easily do them in 2 hours in your driveway.

If DIY please use Brake pads not Break ones.

Just did my brakes last week, it's super simple, less than 2 hours for the whole thing.
