2012/2013 Fit Sport vs. 2015 Fit LX
Hi everyone! So i'm ready to ditch my 2012 golf as it is approaching 100,000 miles and seems to have become possessed. One problem after another and it's just time to move on. I've narrowed down my options to the 2012/2013 sport or 2015 LX (Would go for EX but it isn't financially feasible).
I'm liking the better gas mileage on the 2015 as I drive A LOT and this would be very beneficial. However, I feel like the simpler non-navigation based audio system would better suit me (I hear the navi system is confusing and messy) and the aluminum vs. steel wheels look more aesthetically pleasing.
I'm wondering if anyone here had to make a similar choice and which direction you went? I read that 2012/2013 were also a bit better made in Japan vs. Mexico for the 2015s. Thanks so much in advance!!

Two different cars. The 2015 LX does not have a nav system. Find the best one condition wise & go for it. My .02 is the made in Mexico shouldn't rule out the 2015.
Is buying another car cheaper than keeping your Golf?

As of now I'm thinking so. And also I'm really needing a 4 door as opposed to a two door. My thought process is this.
2012/2013 Sport
Pros:
Aluminum wheels
Leather steering
6 Speakers Vs. 4
Made in Japan
Cons:
Lower Gas Mileage
No Bluetooth
2015
Pros
Bluetooth
Better Gas Mileage
Better Ipod/Iphone Integration
Better Gas mileage
More horsepower
Cons:
Made in Mexico (Higher cost to maintain than Japan made?)
4 speakers Vs. 6

I have a feeling the Golf is going to continue to have issues and I'm really needing a 4 door.
I like the idea of the 2015 having better gas mileage, bluetooth, better iphone/ipod integration, but i'm concerned with the Mexico manufactured cars possibly requiring more maintenance in the future? Also with a 2012/2013 sport I'll have Aluminum wheels, 6 speakers vs. 4, leather steering wheel, etc. A bit of a tough decision to make.

Agreed. I've had my share of QC issues with my 2015 EX, but mechanically it's been very reliable. I'm at 51k+ miles and it's been just regular oil changes, a set of new tires and air filters. I'm getting low 40s MPG in the winter but the rest of the year I'm getting mid 40s. I've got an 80 mile roundtrip commute so gas economy is very important to me.

if it's between a MT 2012/2013 vs CVT 15, id go for the 2012/13.
if it's between an AT 2012/2013 vs CVT 15, id go for the 2015.
ive owned the GE (2009) AT and that tranny was imho horrible in comparison to the GK (2016) CVT i have now.
the 2012 MT i had was very good in comparison. that car was actually pretty enjoyable to drive.

I rank the '12-'14 manual Fit Sport as one of the best sub-compact cars ever made. Outside of those exact parameters and I start looking at other options from other car makers.
Not that others are bad options. Just that those exact cars are very trouble free, fun to drive, and have good aftermarket support.
